you're still a little drunk when you snort yourself awake in the middle of the night -- morning, rather; a glance at the clock tells you that it's 5:17 in the am and that nobody has any business being up at this hour.

nobody else is, or so the chorus of gentle snoring tells you. you know hange is passed out on your couch and levi, despite insisting that she make it home tonight, is curled up around the frankly gargantuan stuffed bear she'd carted all this way for you. sasha...well, sasha can fall asleep anywhere. frankly, you're not sure how many of your guests have made a temporary nest of your home, but, when you clumsily roll over, you find one more.

petra is curled up next to you and her hair is a mess. her back is to you, but when you peer over her bare freckled shoulder you find that she sleeps with her hands balled into loose fists, tucked beneath her chin and over her chest. god, what a sight.

alone, you do something a little silly; you tuck your forehead against the curve of her neck and touch her waist. you don't want to wake her, you just want to say something:

"Hey... I don't know what you see in a guy like me, sometimes." she breathes evenly. outside, your partners snore. "But thanks for bein' good t'me. An'..."

you pause. what are you doing talking to yourself? feeling sentimental?

"Thanks for waitin' for me."

AHEM. sashas makin me DINNER and im buyin more wine than i know what 2 do with so everyone i love: get over here and appreciate this lovely ladys culinary skills (also help me drink all this goddamn wine)
