Suwon was a long way from home. It took a good chunk of the day to get their on public transportation, and even longer on her Gogoat. Not that he couldn’t get her there quickly— she just didn’t want to overexert him. That, and the scenery was nice. But regardless: Suwon was a long way from home, and Minha wouldn’t decide to pop in without reason.
What she wants to say is that she’s job searching. Without a family business to uphold, there was no steady source of income. She had done well in saving money in her youth, but you could only go so far on rainy day jars and piggy banks. The occasional friend or stranger in need of a last minute sitter would show up and ease her worries, though those were only short-term solutions to a long-term issue, and she needed to find something better before she was down to her last legs.
What she’s actually doing is trying to find a friend, or rather an acquaintance. One Moon Hyuna had entered her life not too long ago and she was positively enamored. The older woman had been in Seoul while Minha was on a test visit, and it was easy to latch onto her for emotional safety. They had lunch together and had small talk, bonding over not being from town— anymore, on her part.
They didn’t see each other again after that, but she can’t forget the other woman. She had a pull to her however small, and Minha found it easier to follow it than fight it. A trip to Suwon wouldn’t hurt. It’s not like she was outright tracking Hyuna down, just… wandering around where she lives, for a chance to bump into her.
When hunger and her penchant for cute things drags her into a cafe and she spots the older woman, she wonders if her family’s watching over her.
She’s pushed the door halfway open already, but she bolts outside— after screaming— to the closest corner and releases Mine. “Go grow some flowers,” she tells the Gogoat without the hint of a joke in her voice. “Or find some. Whichever is easier.”
Brushing her hair and checking herself with a glass display, she walks back into the cafe. “Hi, you,” she tries to say cooly as she breezes past the door, but her pitch rises a little too high. She hopes Hyuna doesn’t notice.
