SUMMARY → Elliott and Clara meet up to practice for Xavier’s Legilimency assignment, and maybe bond a little.

Elliott was starting to wonder if they were just a little crazy, not for meeting up with Clara to work on Xavier’s assignment, but for the location that they’d agreed to. It made sense, logically. One could never tell if the Room of Requirement would be in use, and empty classrooms were always hit or miss. But the weather was turning from brisk to outright cold, and they tugged the cloak that they’d pulled on over their muggle clothes that much tighter around them as they moved, glad not for the first time that they’d charmed it to ward off the worst of the cold.

For a moment, Elliott looked around them, scanning the forest nearby to see if they could catch sight of Aurors near the forest, doing God knew what, and trying to ruin Matt’s life more.  Really, Elliott didn’t want to think about that, especially not now, when Clara was about to be rummaging around their mind- or trying to. Sometimes, Elliott was very glad for the time they’d taken to learn how to shield their thoughts, and now was definitely one of them. It meant that, Fidelus Charm or not, the day wouldn’t end in disaster.

At least, unless they edged too close to Clara’s thoughts on Spencer. Or she got too close to how they felt about Kurt, who’s memory was that much more at the forefront of Elliott’s mind after what had happened. But that, the shared pain between the two of them and the consequences of it all would be dealt with later, and as necessary. Besides, first Elliott needed Clara to arrive.

The Sand and the Dust Soliton

In a way the road is clean, the road is dusty kicked up a'swirling in the sky in the haze of the sunshine bright

on this Q-ball static, disaffected a flint rock spark and shine and nothing there to light in the great lean hours

but the sand and the dust soliton, the road swerving on out of sight, thirst and fear and a great pit-pat and on and on again.
