Yesyesyes. What book was it?

Okay, so I read 'The Infernal Devices' by Cassandra Clare and I love loVE LOVE IT!! So I started reading 'The Mortal Instruments' and it just seems like a knock off of Infernal Devices written in modern day lingo. But it's so much popular than Infernal Device and I can't figure out for the life of me why? It could just be because I love books written in 1800's dialect though. Idk, I'm really trying to like it but it's just uGHHHH!
