I Can't Lose You || James & Don
It had only been three days, but it had been three very lonely days. It's funny how three days in isolation wouldn't have normally bothered James. It was fine. He would just lock himself in his room with his computer and all five seasons of the Venture Brothers. However, James had now met Don. He had formed a romantic relationship with 38-year-old man, and it was perfect. He was perfect, and James feared he couldn't live without this perfect relationship. Since he had met Don, James had tried to trick himself into thinking the two were simply involved in a mutual attraction for each other. This was no more than a crush he had. He was only acting like a lovesick schoolgirl. Now, it was painfully obvious that his previous assumption was not the case. James was, dare he say it, in love, and he couldn't let Don slip through his fingers because of something as silly as kissing the flirt of the town. Don had talked to James immediately after the incident. He had admitted to his fault, and James knew that must have taken a lot of guts. Only someone who truly cared would risk heartbreak by telling the truth. James knew that Don couldn't lose him either. James was going and naïve, but he was old enough to know when he wanted to be with someone. He was old enough to know that his relationship with Don felt right. James arrived at Don's early Monday morning, before either of then had to be into work. He wasn't sure they would have enough time to talk, but James had to say something. He couldn't continue moping around his room, feeling sorry for himself. It took a long while for him to finally knock on the salesman's door.
