Fixin' To Thrill II Theresa + Autumn II
Decisions. You make them everyday. Sometimes for the smallest of things like how much toothpaste you should use or if it’s going to be a day for cereal or a poptart. Theresa stood in the middle of her expansive walk in closet trying to decide what outfit she would wear on her girls’ night out with Autumn. Since being back in her hometown she had isolated her daughter, been unable to get in contact with her son and barely had any time to be with her husband. There was no reason for the blonde to be upset at the noticeable distance in the family; Everett and Theresa’s decisions cost them the tight bond with their children so they could be safe. Shrugging her shoulders, she tried to shake off the bad mojo creeping up behind her from the negative thoughts. This was a time to have fun and not be in the public eye as the dutiful wife. Theresa could throw down as many shots down her throat as her liver would allow and catch up with a sister-in-law. Well, technically former.
Despite the lack of blood or marriage certificate bonding Autumn to Theresa as another in-law, she still considered her to be family. The brunette always kept a beaming smile lingering on her face every time the two saw one another. Maybe it was because Theresa didn’t pay close enough attention or maybe Autumn had a near flawless poker face that was impenetrable. Either way, not seeing the cracks and problems in Autumn’s life too late culminated in finding out about Ethan’s indiscretions a couple weeks after the anniversary party. The shit head was lucky Theresa wasn’t there in the flesh to hear the confession. If she had been there, Ethan would have had some glass embedded in his head from being hit with a champagne glass.
Artificial trumpets being blared by her iPhone woke Theresa out of her thoughts. Spending so much time thinking about the past only made her late in the present. She cursed out loud, venturing further into her closet to pick the right dress for the occasion. Girls’ night out meant no razzle-dazzle clothing, especially since their idea for a non-high society venue was a dive bar out in Ainsburg. Sifting through a collection of dresses, none screamed out the perfection Theresa was looking for tonight. All of them were too princess-like, as James would say. They were great for charity galas and campaign events, but for a laidback, all binge night? Pass. Instead, she slipped into a pair of black leather leggings and a pair of booties she wouldn’t cry over if they got wrecked in mud. Grabbing a loose olive tang top and a burgundy leather jacket to complete the look, Theresa checked herself out in the vanity, admiring the fashion taste inherited from her mother.
With so much time wasted on getting dressed, it didn’t take long for Theresa to fix her makeup before striding out of the empty house to her car. Sliding into the driver’s seat, the woman started the ignition and took off out of the driveway to Autumn’s new place. Cruising down the asphalt, Theresa drove for several minutes until she reached an apartment closed to the edge of Anderson Island. Close to the beach with a picturesque view, it certainly matched the vibe of Autumn's personality. Digging into her pocket, she pulled out her phone to call Autumn. A few buzzing tones rang into her ear until the brunette’s voice cut in with a simple hello. “First off Hey and second, apologies for the tardiness. I got caught up in my own beauty,” she joked. “I’m outside in my car ready to get this night started.”
