Rorik walked up the stairs to his apartment slowly, his mind still reeling from leaving his brother at the hospital. He wanted so badly to tell Shania what upset him, why he had to leave in the middle of the night so often. She didn’t need to know the extent of his business, or his father’s business really. As he opened the door, he found her sitting on the couch, turned away from him. “Good morning,” he said softly, his eyes tired and back aching. “Sleep well?”
