Ryan applying 2” wide maple edge banding on the hidden door at his #maplepanels project. I had some questions via DMs... we used contact cement (3M) sprayed on both door edge and veneer. J roll, wipe edges with mineral spirits, razor knife / block plane / sand down edges. More Z clip action today. In case you’re wondering, we are cladding over an existing plywood surface which was someone else’s previous attempt at a finished plywood panel wall and ceiling surface. A few mistakes were made: 1. No straightening of surfaces or substrate and 2. everything was 18ga brad nailed and putty’d. The panels we are installing will be shop finished and the veneer is much much nicer. Stay tuned!
