Kokua,In the coming of the year, we have over 5 lāhui groups trying to manage their own party in the safety and security of the paʻakai hawaiian salt ponds of Kauai. Kinda late post but this was after the February 2018 floods . What a beauty...though it’s in danger from high tides with wall breaks driven over, my son pics up trash as we go along, kupunas start a clean up group who other “retiree parties” also inquire to want to join in the event following the inspiring conversation with my son and his students, the papas want to clean the unwatered lands surrounding it, and aunties trying to collect samples of old paakai to determine the future changes if more oil machinery like helicopters and unmaintained trucks dig the dirt and drip the excess of their #opala trash that have access past the existing road parking and don’t retain or maintain their belongings within their own space . The carbon and filthy dust must be contained or stopped before it gets captured in the crystal formation, clay gets tacky instead of firm to build salt beds; for it’s the life of our resources and the protection for our inner peace and nutritional health. As I search for life the natives are restless and begin to grow along the banks, making sure trash doesn’t go beyond the bushes. Unlike Colorado natural melted ice lakes which was contaminated with salt with drunken party boats ,and drying up the lands as it creeps to as far as water may reach; the Ancient Himalaya and Utah swamp which had dehydrated and had caved every drop of water into salt ...this is fresh red iron ocre sea salt...you can taste the sweet ocean ...not sold...not manufactured by machines...this is true organic nutrients and minerals traded family to family by indigenous hawaiian Ohana practices . Nutrition by Hawaii finest ocean beings and #paakai salt crystals of the pond itself. Think of Where your going before driving, think What’s below you before stepping. If it’s Not Your trash, Just Pick It Up. #malamaaina #hanapepe #saltponds #himalayansalt #venezuelasalt #utahsalt #hawaiiansalt #ancient #resource #hawaiisunset #treading #water #saltpondbeachkauai #communityfirst #makaainana #luu #holoholowai (at Salt Pond Beach Park)
