I can forever watch Pacey fall in love with Joey. It's my passion 💙.
Season 3 will always be the best, even though in Season 2 Pacey is perfect with Andie.
Even when he was in pain, you could feel his pain. I feel it ...! It is especially due to the exceptional work of Joshua Jackson who knew how to bring such a profound character to life.
I remember, over 20 years ago, when I watched the series with my childish eyes, I was in love with Pacey (i still do btw...) , he's my first television love.
And I think I modeled my masculine ideal on him. And no man is like him.
"you bought me a wall? from joey to pacey and "you looked it up? from literati are something so personal to me
I have too many ships to count so I used a 5 star rating system.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️Joey Potter & Pacey Witter ~Dawson’s Creek

How lonely Pacey was...
We remember when everyone finds out about Joey and Pacey's relationship, Pacey was really alone. Luckily, Will was by his side in the early days, as were his other friends, who of course also had their own problem, but nobody really cared about him. It was put aside, that he was the only one at fault, that falling in love with Joey was a serious mistake, a betrayal of Dawson. That Andie felt betrayed is a bit legitimate, although she didn't have much to say after what she did to Pacey...BTW...!!
No one was on Pacey's side until the last episode of S3, and his friends were around him before he left, the rest of the time Pacey had very little support. While he has always been there for his friends, to defend them, to cheer them up, rarely to judge them.
And at the start of Season 4, and even throughout Season 4, Pacey could only count on her sister Gretchen for some support, some advice.
The drive-in scene make me angry so much !!!!! Joey and Pacey come like a real couple, and the mood become darkens because Dawson sets that mood when he sees Pacey, the treats for him.
Whether it's Jen and Jack are uneasy, and Pacey is pushed aside, can't say hello to his friends. And no one even cares.
Pacey is simply punished because he dared to be in love with Joey, and that love be reciprocated. Everyone blames Pacey for breaking up the group...It is unfair.
All Season 4, Pacey have really only Joey, and Gretchen, especially Gretchen. We don't see him anymore with his friends,
Pacey has enough fear, he never feels up to it, and precisely the fact of being pushed aside accentuates this lonely side, thinking about the meaning of his life.
As if he was unworthy of having his friends with him. It was not incompatible that others take care of him. But Dawson has taken over the group of friends because, poor man, he lost Joey.
But Joey, even with Pacey, was never 100% with him. Her mind was preoccupied, she still had to wait for Dawson to give her the freedom to go find Pacey.
Pacey, throughout her relationship with Joey, Dawson hovered over their relationship. And he was right on many points:
- Pacey saw that Joey was elsewhere on the boat, and that she was thinking of Dawson (in friendship, of course ...)
- He knew seeing Dawson and Gretchen kissing bored her, and that she needed to talk to Dawson. He was right, Joey drops by to see Dawson, discuss their friendship, and Dawson gives her a very nice gift. And finally, Joey feels better, and become less aggressive with Pacey.
- His fear that in Joey's heart, she might have dreamed of her first time with Dawson, and that her fear of acting out with him stems from there. He was right (again), Joey calls Dawson, and by half a word she felt free of that weight, and finally feeling ready with Pacey.
And when Pacey and Joey have sex, there's this kind of guilt hanging around them. Pacey finds himself in the turmoil again, he asks himself if it is wrong what they are doing. Yet this is not the first girl he sleeps with, he never asked himself this kind of question with Andie, no guilt, nothing.
Yet the way the subject was handled, we could tell that Pacey was feeling uncomfortable, and that he had known for a long time that Joey had lied to Dawson (in general, Dawson should never have asked the question). And he didn't say anything, and let it go, feeling even more uncomfortable about it.
And Pacey goes through all of these questions alone, with no friends by his side, to maybe give him the best advice.
While Dawson was never alone, he could talk about his moods to Jack, Jen, and he had Gretchen.
Pacey only had Joey, that might be enough for him, but when things are not going well with your girlfriend, a friend would do good, and Pacey didn't have that anymore. Dawson had his back turned to him, Jack and Jen were on their side. Pacey sank into his worries, his anxieties of being less than nothing.
Gretchen who was dating Dawson had a different vision, although she understood Pacey in many ways, but Gretchen was too sentimentally involved. It would have been worth an outside eye, like when Bessie had told Joey to confide in someone else when Pacey kissed her.
Pacey was alone, and that is a cruel reality.
