1964. Senator Dodd’s Red Scare nostalgia. Dodd was ahead of the curve in hating hippies. Not only did he look to crush Pacifica Radio through red baiting in 1964, but he later cowrote the legislation that banned LSD. It was the Dodd hearings that resulted in the end for many legitimate therapists, psychiatrists, counsellors, and scientific researchers who had been doing good work with LSD for fifteen years, dating back to 1950. Investigative journalist Jack Anderson considered Dodd one of the most corrupt politicians of his era.

The archivist at Pacifica Radio rediscovered a recording of MLK giving a speech in London.
"The Stranger," a radio play with musical accompaniment by Sun Ra & His Arkestra, premiered over the Pacifica radio network in the late 1960s, on a program called Mind’s Eye Theater. The exact date is unknown, but 1968 is a consensus guess (as noted in The Earthly Recordings of Sun Ra).
