7/11/21 - PCH - a good camping spot

Thinking about the dolphins - it was my first time I think. I woke up after someone pulling on their pants behind my car - I had this metal thing that sounded lethal & I cranked it - they bolted & I snickered to the sound of a loose belt buckle clambering away.

So I stayed up, 2 hours sleep was enough. Thumbing my metal bar, waiting for the sun to show itself - and there in a hazy daze of smoke or sleeplessness - one pop!

2 pop! 3,4 - dolphins.

The sky was getting pink and the blues fading into lilac & a soft crimson - and these little leaders.

I wanted to be them. Instinct driven and surfing with a friend in the early morning before the rest of the sea woke up - or maybe it already was.

Maybe the ocean is NYC..

My first trip to Brooklyn for a shibari training (that went so wrong) - I asked someone at the entrance, what time does the subway close? And the person cackled, I mean a deep belling & at the time I was borderline tears, I just wanted an answer and Google kept sending fkn ads. Overstimulated. Trying to find this art den that doubled as — a den.

Now? I’m laughing too. It doesn’t sleep. The city was in such a hurry to be built that they forgot to add alleyways for trash pick up - that’s why it sits out front of buildings.

The ocean is like that. Always awake, full to the brim, moving and going. Sleepless in shifts. Up for air, deep diving down.

That’s a pretty thought.
