I've always been entranced by the life blooming out of shallow ponds. A pure source of magic! Vernal/ephemeral pools are temporary pools that fill with water during the rainy season, then usually dry up in the summer. They are some of the most ecologically important areas because they provide habitat for endemic plants and animals. These important breeding grounds for rare species are disappearing in CA so I'm shining a light on it! 🌟 Scroll to see a painting I made 10 years ago called "Small Pond", spiraling back & building on a recurring idea 💡 as I try to work the landscape into the grain of the wood this time. Radio passed away last night. He lived a long life for a little frog 3 - 4 years. He liked singing along to the radio with his raspy croak. He will be greatly missed. #frog #pacificchorusfrog #pacifictreefrog https://www.instagram.com/p/CVBZMlDBb_m/?utm_medium=tumblr

So I set up my rock tumbler in the same room as my frogs. They croaked here and there and didn't seem to mind it.

A few hours later...

All the frogs have been croaking nonstop. I have unintentionally found the universal aphrodisiac sound for frogs.

Several hours later...

THEY ARE STILL CROAKING. I have been unable to sleep. The rock tumbler is being moved to another room.

TL:DR Sound of the rock tumbler made my frogs horny. I'm moving it so I can have quiet.
