The Haveli of Sardar Jawala Singh Sandhu lies now in ruins, Sardar Jawala Singh was a commander in the Sikh Army and fought alongside Sardar Hari Singh Nalwa. Sandhu Sardar's of Padhana held high posts in Maharaja Ranjit Singh's army and court, elder sister of Maharani Jind Kaur was married to Sardar Jawala Singh. The Sandhu Sardar's of Padhana were people of power till the partition of 1947. Their proud Haveli today sadly lies in ruins and is being used for cattle, built with small bricks and standing strong still, needs attention of the Punjab and Pakistan Governments to make it again a grand Haveli it once was. So much Sikh and Punjabi Heritage (Virsa) needs to be saved for our future generations. Here are some pictures shared by our reader from Pakistan side of Punjab.
