Okay, I'm really proud of this one! Kind of my first big project around here.
I recently discovered that I love weeding, and we have some neglected planter boxes out front that have just collected weeds and debris for the last year. I cleared one out and thought, hey, this calls for a trip to the plant nursery! (Outings are more fun with friends, so thank you to resident extrovert Calli for coming along and helping me pick things out!)
(We didn't end up taking any garden benches home, alas, but at least we did meet the crow guardian of the hydrangeas.)
While perusing the full sun section we realized: SUCCULENTS! And immediately decided one of the boxes was going to be a succulent garden.
But wait: wouldn't this look better... with rocks??
I'd never been to a landscaping store before. Time for another adventure!
The first one we rejected bc it looked like a shack that was going to fall down at any second and a very shirtless employee was out front. (It probably was a perfectly nice place, but, pass.) At the next one we tried, THE nicest guy helped us figure out what we wanted and set us loose on the rocks (thanks Jason!). We ended up with 50lbs of river rock and 350lbs of wall rock, all hand-picked 💪🏻
It didn't look like much there or when we got it home, but it ended up being just right!
I'm SO PROUD of how it looks now! We're going to get some larger succulents to go with river rocks in the middle, but for now, I'm delighted. We did this!
Not bad for the Coven of Girls Who Need to Lie Down. 💅🏻 So grateful my body can still do this—I just need to take it one step/day at a time, hydrate (get those electrolytes baybee), and get good sleep. The compression socks and beta blocker probably help, too.
I love it!! 🌟
Th-there's a bee????
There's so much I want to make but I have to sleep and work and do other shit
