MFA Program Intern
Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) Program
The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts (PAFA), America’s first art museum and school of fine arts, has an internship opportunity available in its Masters of Fine Arts (MFA) Program available to graduates and first year MFA students. The intern will be will be supervised by the Chair of the MFA Program, and will be granted use of a private studio during the course of the internship which runs from late August through mid May.
The MFA Program Internship provides an opportunity to learn about the many facets of administering an MFA program, from planning and scheduling to curriculum development and assessment. The intern will work with graduate faculty, students and staff, learning from the key constituents that make up the graduate experience. They will develop teamwork skills and see firsthand how individuals and departments collaborate to run a program. The will learn about pedagogical approaches and how curriculum and school structure support learning goals. The intern will assist with general office work in support of the department. They will work closely with the MFA Chair and will gain valuable skills that will prepare them for further work in art school administration.
This is an unpaid internship for an artist passionate about graduate education and administration, expected to require approximately 10 hours per week during the internship period.
