7. Honey Boo Boo Child
A few weeks ago a friend of mine showed me a Youtube video that featured Toddler and Tiara’s, Alana Thompson. The clip left me gasping for air from laughing so hard. In fact, I was so entertained by the beauty queen that I immediately sent the clip via email to some other people.
Toddlers and Tiaras is a TLC show that documents the toddler pageant scene. Viewers were introduced to this precocious toddler who gave some profound insight on her life as a beauty queen. Whether she was pounding back her special Go-Go juice or saying hilarious phrases such as, “Every dolla makes me holla,” Miss Alana left audiences entertained.
Last weekend, I overheard someone quote the toddler at a bar. I had no idea what a sensation the toddler has become. What I thought was just a funny clip my friend stumbled upon is actually a Youtube hit. As of today, the clip has been viewed 1,787,655.
Alana’s claim to fame is no thanks to the TLC show and her out-going personality. But I don’t think her raise to the top would have been reached if it were not for the Internet and word-of-mouth. The Internet allowed a large audience to be reached, while word-of-mouth provided great advertisement.
