3 maybe-controversial but not surprising things about my pagan practice:
1. My queerness and politics are integral parts of my practice. They can not be separated from me and, therefore, will always be part of my practise. Plus, I converted because pagan ideals are antifacist and anticolonial by nature. My religion will always reflect me as a person, and I genuinely don't think you can be pagan while denying its roots. Nazis can't be pagan. White supremacists can't be pagan. Zionists can't be pagan. Transphobes can't be pagan. These are all colonist political world views and I can't see how you could claim to worship the Earth while killing its life.
2. There is no "divine feminine" or "divine masculine." There is only the Divine. These concepts were made up. What is Masc and Femme is subjective to people and cultures.
3. I don't celebrate Ostara. It was never a true pagan holiday and was made up by Nazis. I celebrate the solstices. When the moon is in my zodiac and sometimes Yule, Mabon, Imbloc, Beltane, and Samhain.
