According to Amazon, the entirety of the Homestuck Epilogues is 640 pages long. I read the Epilogues over the course of two days, taking about 7-8 hours for each route. That’s 640 pages in maybe 16 hours total? Oh man.
I’m not really saying this for any particular reason. I’m mostly proud of myself for being able to finish a 640 book in two days, when I couldn’t even finish The Old Man and the Sea (128 pages) over the course of a semester when I was a freshman in high school. I even had difficulties learning to read when I was little, so much so that it was hard to finish a 20 page children’s book. I’m just so glad I was able to progress so much. It feels good.
(I do think I missed a lot of things on the first read through, and I got a lot more out of each chapter by rereading them. I also felt completely emotionally washed out when I reached the end, and I think going slower may have mitigated that feeling a bit? Or maybe it would have just drawn out my suffering? I was too worked up to sleep between the two days, so I can’t imagine spreading that out even longer. Anyway, the Epilogues make you feel like crap when you read them in two days without sleeping, and I really don’t recommend it. I’m just taking whatever positives out of the situation that I can. It’s what I always try to do.)
