Happy( ok im not sure, is this happy or absolutely gut wrenching) NEWT DAY(?)!!! Ahh 7th september, 250thday hUh (YKIYK) So, here's whatuhh ithink of Newt, well not exactly, its more like a tribute or something. coz honestly, Newt was an amazing character (i may be influenzed by the number of fanfics on the internet), no really, Amayzing character development, i guess... Ok, but imagine a geraskier page 250 Maze Runner au.

Not necessarily the plot of the maze runner with the Witcher characters but just the story with Newt getting infected and running into Thomas, half delirious attacking him, blaming him and begging him to kill him, before he turns into "one of those cannibal monsters". And Thomas giving in and killing him, never being able to really shake the guilt.

Now bear with me here:

After episode 6 Jaskier somehow manages to get himself cursed, which is slowly making him lose himself and his sense and turning him into an aggressive, instinctual monster

He tries to fight it as best as he can, even goes to some mages but always gets the same awnser and slowly loses to the curse

At a point where he is nearly pretty much past the gone and slipping in and out of control he runs into geralt

Geralt, who has been regretting everything he said the second he said it

Who is frozen with surprise and not really knowing what to do

Because of course he wants to apologize, but how do you do that the right way

And being not really in control and still frustrated with what happened the last time they saw each other he attacks Geralt

Geralt not knowing what is happening gently blocks the blows but otherwise doesn't fight back and just let's Jaskier punch him

Jaskier cries and screams at him with half his own rage and half the rage of what he is now and yells at him what happened to him, how unfair it his, how he wasn't there to protect him

And Geralts heart stops

Because he has heard of the curse and he knows there is no cure

And suddenly Jaskiers head clears and he starts begging Grealt now

Begging him to not let this happen, to take him out of his misery, to end this

Begging him to kill him

Geralt refusing and interrupting Jaskier, trying to calm him down, not wanting - not being able to lose his friend

Not now, not like this, not through him

But Jaskier only gets angry again, starts yelling again and is reaching for geralt silver sword, pointing it at himself

"Now make amends, repent for what you did. Kill me before I become one of those cannibal monsters"

And now Geralt panics, tries to get hold of his sword while not hurting Jaskier

Jaskier keeps pleading to kill him

Geralt keeps refusing, getting more desperate by the second, guiltier and pained, tears starting to collect in his eyes

Knowing there is only one way this is going to end but refusing to accept this

Until Jaskier with the last grasp of sanity rasps out "please Geralt, please"

moves Geralts hand to the hilt of his sword

And with his heart falling into a black abyss, Geralt rammed his sword through Jaskiers heart

For a fracture of a second Jaskiers eyes showed relief and thankfulness before they don't show anything anymore and he falls

Before his body even has the chance to reach the ground Geralt is already cradling his body, repeating nothing but a broken no

Now he is the one pleading for forgiveness for everything he did

For yelling at Jaskier

Abandoning Jaskier

Killing Jaskier with the silver sword even though he wasn't a monster, he could never be a monster

And his tears fall

Thomas stared at the note Minho had just given to him.

why? why would he go with them? he knew Newt, not nearly as long as Minho but that didn’t matter. Newt was his best friend.

He glanced at the bottom of the note- the tear stains, the smudges on Goodbye, he knew what he had to do.

He was going to save Newt.

The Last City. Heartbreak is inevitable. Everyone learns to live with it. Thomas repeated that statement to himself as it would ease his pain to a manageable amount. His fear that Newt would leave was coming true. Newt was alive. For now. Newt knew that he would not go quietly like he wished. He loved Tommy too fiercly for that to occur. So they would fight. They would revolt again and again until it made a difference. Until his mind was no longer his own. They would fight.
