The Paguriran Island backpacking guide, budget, and how to get there.

The Paguriran island is one of Sorsogon's best kept secret, it is a wide stretch of fine white sand beach with an island in front, an island with a lagoon inside. Aside from the main island there are also few islets surrounding the lagoon. The place is known for travellers that are into open sea swimming and diving/jumping.

How to get there?

Ride a bus or van (UV express) going Sorsogon City

Legazpi City - Sorsogon City

UV express: 85Php (student), 120Php (Regular fare)

Bus: 60Php

Sorsogon City - Sawanga, District of Bacon, Sorsogon

Ride a jeepney from Sorsogon city to Sawanga, Bacon District, Sorsogon

Terminal is located at the basement level of Savemore Sorsogon. There are two Savemore's in Sorsogon city but theres only one Savemore with basement level and its the bigger one.

Jeepney: 25Php-30Php

The beach is located along side of the road. You just need to tell the driver to drop you at Paguriran Beach.

Arriving at the resort, we stayed on a hut quite far away from the shore. You won't like the huts along the shore if you're looking for a quiet place to stay at night because of the videoke machines that every huts (along the shore) has.

Our hut comes with two bedrooms, two living areas, and a bathroom.

The hut costs 750 Php. We were 5 that time so it was 150/ pax.

There are canteens and stores all over the area so food and other stuff are not problem.

Place worth visiting in Sorsogon

PAGURIRAN ISLAND AND LAGOON

Paguriran is in Sawanga, Bacon District, Sorsogon City.

The place is very serene having fine white sand and clear water. There are cottages and washrooms. The main attraction here is not the beach but the little island that nestles their famous lagoon. When they say low tide, the beach gets drained that you can walk towards the lagoon without getting your feet wet . In the afternoon, the water begins to rise but only up until waist level on normal days. You can climb to the top to get a good bird's eye view. And yes you can swim in the lagoon.

That time my sister laughed so hard when i finally jumped the cliff. Took me 8 mins to condition myself, it doesn't look high in the video but believe me its quite high wahahaha next time ill jump without the life vest tho lol well atleast i did it!
