A/N: This is still my absolute favorite scene in all of Graceland and probably my all time favorite whump scene. It's just so damn good. But this was the hardest scene I've ever subtitled i swear to god. There are so many people talking all at once and I'm fairly sure I got some of them wrong but I don't even care anymore. And because these subtitles are crazy here's a quick guide. White is Johnny, yellow is Briggs, teal is Charlie, red is Paige, and green is Jakes.

this would be such an awful thing to do, but sometimes i imagine Briggs coming home from the hospital and telling Paige that Mike died, that Sid killed him. and then Briggs walks away and lets her sit with that for six minutes.

six minutes of Paige just sitting there sobbing, thinking that she killed Mike, that she'll have to live with this for the rest of her life. and Briggs is off in another room watching the clock. for six minutes.

and then he comes back and says the doctors revived Mike, but that's how long Briggs had to live with the not knowing — not knowing whether Mike would make it. and they still don't know the extent of the damage, because Mike's brain was deprived of oxygen for six minutes, and you don't just bounce back from something like that. and then he leaves Paige again. and she doesn't see Mike again until he signs himself out of the hospital AMA to interrupt her suicide mission.
