Whump drabbles, 25/100: night
“You shouldn’t be up.”
Whumpee knew the words, but struggled to put together their meaning. She sought support from the wall, the world around her blurring the longer she stood. Warm hands found her waist just as her knees buckled beneath her.
“Oops, I’ve got you. It’s okay, love. Let’s go back to bed.”
“Bed,” Whumpee repeated. That she could understand. She let the other person guide her, trusting that voice, that touch, without fully knowing who it was.
Soon she sank into the mattress, and sleep came easy as that someone tucked her in and lay right behind them.
