February 10 monday 2025

Paige found herself in her own little world. Missing the presence of her best friend. Shooting around in the gym in the early morning at Storrs her team slowly came in for a very early practice. Extra reps were Paige's focus these days. But something else was becoming more of a distraction. Her girlfriend had started getting a lot more attention and it pissed her off. While Azzi started to become more and more comfortable with the fame and the fans she was gaining, Paige was jealous. Azzi was hers. As practice went on Geno set a drill up for the girls. “We're doing three on three. I want my starting line up first and Kk. Let’s have Paige, Ashlyn, and Kk for team one.” His stern voice caused the girls to run over to their spots. “That leaves Azzi, Jana, and Sarah.” Geno went over to the side with the other girls to observe the game and take some notes.

The teams took their spots on the court. “Azzi” The voice caught her attention and she whipped her head around. “Your team can start with possession.” The blonde woman no other than CD said. Azzi took it from one end of the court and passed to Sarah at the logo. Sarah made a swift pass to Jana who took it for the lay up. The game went on for 10 minutes until Geno called the six girls into a huddle. Paige standing next to Azzi put her arm around her and let it slip around her waist. It went unnoticed by the team as they thought Azzi flushed from the intense game. Her breath hitched as she felt a tap of her butt causing her to snap out of the trance she was in. The blue eyed girl smirked at her and gave her a loving look. “That's all for you six! Why don't you just hit the showers.” He crinkled up his nose as he said it. “Lord knows you need it!”

The girls retreated to the locker room. Paige's eyes darted over Azzi as she started to take off her practice jersey. “Girl she got you acting weird as hell!” Kk exclaimed quietly, making sure she was out of ear shot as she sat down next to paige. Paige looked over at Kk, her elbows on her knees and her head in her hands as she sat on the bench. “I just love her so much you know.” Paige said with a sigh. “I have never met anyone more perfect.” Kk laughed at Paige as the blonde girl looked down avoiding eye contact. Kk looking around before whispering to Paige “Whatchu guys gonna friday” She said as she winked. Friday was Valentine's day. It was four days away. The blue eyed girl sat up so fast. She looked at Kk and felt a knot tighten in her stomach. “Kk.. I forgot..” Paige said as she gasped a little bit, eyes widening. “Yo, let's go to the mall right now.” Kk gave her a look. “Girl boo you smell gross as hell. get your ass in the shower and we can go.” Hearing this Paige stood up. She went over to Azzi who was done changing and gave her a kiss on the cheek. “Me and Kk are gonna go out. I'll see you later princess.” Azzi’s cheeks flushed pink as she gave Paige a hug. “Ok baby. I'll see you later. Will you be back by lunch?” Her dark eyes pleaded with want as she knew she wanted some alone time with her favorite blonde. “We will see. I have to pick some stuff up.” Paige was cut off by Kk 

“Girl, we got to go. Hop in the shower now or else we will never leave.”

Paige and Kk hopped in Paige’s car as they made their way to the mall. Their music blaring loud as they made their way into the parking lot. Getting out of the passenger seat kk said with a sarcastic tone “Make sure you're shopping for Azzi and not yourself. You are not the best gift giver you know.”  Paige's head turned to look at Kk as she stepped out of the car. “Whatttt.” She exclaimed with shock. “No way. I give the best gifts. You have seen firsthand my gift giving skills.” Kk nodded in agreement. “Yes, it's true. But sometimes you get off track.” Kk replied back as she pushed the doors to the mall open. “Yeah whatever.” the blond said as she shook her head. “We all know your cappin.”

Taking time around the mall Paige found a jewelry store. With her new found NIL money it wasn’t like she couldn’t spend any money. She motioned Kk over the array of necklaces. “Good Idea buckets!” Kk said as she followed the blond around the store. “Your girl is gonna like that for sure.” Paige scanned up and down the rows of necklaces in the case. She wanted something that would fit Azzi perfectly. Something that shows how much she loves her. “Perfect.” The blue eyed girl whispered as she focused her attention on one of the most beautiful pieces of jewelry she had ever laid eyes on. It was a silver necklace with a heart and an infinity symbol. The heart and symbol had diamonds on them. She knew Azzi loved the sparkle of diamonds. She also knew Azzi would try not to accept it just on how expensive it looked. “PAIGE.” Kk exclaimed as she looked at paige. In response the blond just turned her head to look at her, completely unfazed. “That necklace is 3 bands. Let's be real girl.” Paige looked at her as a smile spread across her face. “That's nothing for the women I love.” She smiled so bright as the words left her mouth. Kk knew there was no stopping her. Feeling her phone buzz in her pocket she pulled it out. Kk repeating the action they opened up messages. The team group chat had suggested a night at teds. For sure!! Paige typed back.

Continuing around the mall she ducked into the target. Kk followed as she picked out a few assortments of gifts. “Ima make her a basket.” Paige said as she picked up a cute pink blanket sprinkled with hearts on it. “Not bad Bueckers. Who knew you could be such a romantic.” Going around the store in search of cute little stuffers for the brunette Paige had finally found all the things she wanted. A pink blanket, a teddy bear, chocolates, some sour candies, and finally a 100$ gift card. “Damn this is some good stuff. I need to get a huzz. Where's my basket?” Paige laughed as they head to check out

Back in the dorms getting ready for a night out  with the team, Azzi showed up in a green crop top and some black jeans that tore Paige's eyes away from the group. Kk laughed when she saw how excited Paige was “Paige you're so whipped” she spit out. The rest of the team laughed while making their way to the bar. The moment they walked in all eyes were on Azzi. She was gorgeous. Azzi stood over to the side chatting with Caroline. Sipping slowly on a drink since they had pre-gamed at the apartment. “You're so lucky.” Caroline said as she sighed looking down. “What do you mean?” The curly haired girl spit out. “You are awesome!” Caroline looked at Azzi and laughed. “Not like that. I just mean you are so lucky to have a great relationship. Not everyone gets lucky like that.” Azzi gave her a look with sad eyes as she tried to comfort her friend by making the mood lighter. “If i'm so lucky, where is my girl?” She laughed as she looked around to find Paige dancing with Ice and Kk. “But you know what I mean.” Caroline said as Azzi stared at Paige as the two of them made eye contact from across the room. 

A tall filled out brunette walked over to her. She recognized him from the mens bb team. He was clearly drunk and it caught Azzi off guard when he put his arm around her so his hand was on her waist. “Let me buy you a drink.” He smirked as Azzi pushed him off and walked away. Paige came to her side putting her arm around her. Visibly uncomfortable Caroline tried to stop the situation. “Chill out dude she's taken.” He smirked as he tightened his grip on the girl's waist. “What are you jealous of! We can make this a three person thing if you want it that bad. Paige who had been watching the interaction happen with Kk and Ice realized as it turned into something unfriendly. She walked over to her friends with the tall guy as Ice and Kk followed behind her. Grabbing Caroline, Ice, Kk, and Caroline fled the interaction as it had grown increasingly scary.“ Hey. What’s up” The blond said as she kissed Azzi’s temple. “ My bad.” the tall figure exclaimed sarcastically as he put his hands up. “I didn't realise you were a Fa-” Paige had already had a few drinks from pregaming at the apartment. She wasn’t even thinking when her fist went up right into his chin. “Yo what the fuck I said my bad” he stammerd. “Chill bro. Women these days…” He muttered as he walked away. 

Paige left Azzi’s Side out of distress. Slamming money on the counter and asking for a shot. The bartender delivered it quickly. She picked it up and drank it in one go. It burned as it went down but it felt better than whatever had just happened. She looked down at her hand and realised her knuckles were red. Her mind went back to Azzi. She left her. She left her alone so she could drink. She left the bar to go look for her but she was gone at this point.

Azzi was sitting at the other end of the bar drinking like the world was ending. A random glass on the counter catches her eye. It was pink. Azzi liked pink. She picked it up and drank it as Caroline made her way over to her. “Are you ok?” She asked, hugging Azzi from the side. “Im ok, It’s just when things happen Paige can’t control herself.” Now it was Caroline's turn to look over at her with remorse.“Why does Paige always act like this?” She lightly sighed as she spoke to Caroline. “ She loves you, that's all.” Her words were reassuring but she had a pit in her stomach. A bad feeling washed over her. “I don’t feel that good.” She said as her head started spinning and her stomach started turning. “Do you want to call it a night?” Caroline said, looking on with worry at her friend. “I'm fine. Let's dance.”

Azzi hopped up from her seat at the bar as she made her way to the open dance floor. Caroline hesitantly followed. The music almost distorting itself in her head Azzi spun around trying to distract herself from the worries she had about her girlfriend. Oh my god my girlfriend. Shes so perfect. Her thoughts drifted around as she started feeling heat rising. A tall presence standing behind her. The brunette guy from earlier. He grabbed her waist and pulled Azzi close. Freezing up with worry she felt sick as his hands started dipping lower. Unaware of what was fully happening from all the alcohol intake she just stood against him. His hands making their way lower teasing the waist of her jeans. A hand reached out for her. Caroline grabbing her out of his grasp walked her over back to the bar and motioned her to take a seat. “I’ll be right back Az. ok?” she said as she looked for approval in Azzi’s eyes. “Mhmm.” Azzi muttered out as she shook her head. Reaching over for the sweet pink drink she was sipping on earlier. She could hear Caroline getting angry with the guy she had just been with. He felt so familiar while standing against her. Caroline made her way back over to Azzi and her spot at the bar. Her face looked a little twisted and her body looked very uncomfortable.“You look pale. Let's head back and get you water. I’ll call Paige and let her know.” The two girls hopped in the uber. The second they left the car, Azzi threw up on the grass outfront of the dorm.

Waking up with the sun shining bright in the apartment, Azzi looked over to see a sleeping Paige next to her. She shifted causing her body to feel the pain from last night. She was wearing a t-shirt and sleep shorts, so she must have changed last night. Feeling the burning sensation in her throat she knew she was unwell. Hopping out of the bed and running into the bathroom she threw up. Barely reaching the toilet. “Hey. You don't look much better.” Paige observed as she rubbed the sleep out of her eyes. Walking over towards Azzi, hunched over on the floor she held her hair back as she continued to get sick.

After about 30 minutes of staying by the toilet the blond knew something was off. Azzi was sweating like crazy and her pulse was racing. She looked so pale and-. She snapped out of her thought as Azzi slipped out of consciousness. Slumping over completely she could see that she needed more help. Worried, Paige pulled out her phone and called Kk. Kk ran over to the apartment and walked inside the bathroom. “Woah.” She exclaimed. “She does not look good.” A worried look spread across her face as she looked like she was reminiscing. “ I think I have seen something like this before. Back in high school my friends and I went out and someone slipped something in her drink. She could have been roofied.” Paige looked on in worry. She knew what likely happened. That guy saw Paige run off to the bar and put something in Azzi’s drink thinking he could get her that way. Anger spread through her causing her head to pound a little more than it already was from the drinking last night.

She scooped Azzi up bridal style and laid her in the bed. “Can you grab a bucket or a big bowl?” The blond whispered to Kk. “Yeah I'll brb.” Azzi’s eyes fluttered open as she looked around her room to see she was in Paige's arms. “That guy!” the brunette said. “ I know him.” Paige was startled by the sudden words of her girlfriend but was happy that she was awake nonetheless. 

“You made me so worried, baby. I was so scared, and you looked so sick.” Paige said with watery eyes. “Wait… how do you know him?”
