Having a very frustrating week. Today I learned I can no longer be on pain medication or muscle relaxers because of my combination of increasing heart rate, asthma, and brain fog. This sucks because last night I threw out my back and I can barely move. I can't get up without help and I've been spontaneously bursting into tears because of the pain spasms. I cry a lot, I know, but that's at emotional and mental stuff - when it comes to pain, I don't cry. I have a very high pain tolerance in that regard. I think it freaked Jake out a little last night when I was crying from pain. Thankfully we already had an appointment with my pain doc today to discuss med updates and the growing pain in my knees, but that's where we found out I can't be on anything more than the arthritis-strength Tylenol I'm already taking. Instead I just have to deal with heating pads and cold packs. So I am pretty much out of commission for awhile (except tomorrow night - like hell I'm missing Star Wars - Jake is carrying me into that theater if he has to). My knees are still crappy and swollen and "spongy" and I still have deep aches in my joints but they're keeping me on another round of the combination gabapentin/Savella to see if it makes any dent in the pain. I will probably go back to physical therapy in the new year once the medication changes subside. Oh also when they took my vitals, my heart rate started at 128 and then dropped down to 118 while there. So it still hasn't gone down in two weeks. We see the cardiologist on Friday. My chest is just a constant ache now so hopefully we get some answers. It makes me really tired and all I want to do all the time is sleep but I can't because my heart just keeps going like a scared baby bunny. Have a follow up with pain doc in a month, as well as an appt with my rheumatologist for a brand new round of testing, and then a follow up with my neurologist in February. And probably multiple appts with my PCP since I see her constantly. The nurses there have started recognizing my voice on the phone and don't ask for my name anymore. It's kind of sad. So the rest of my day will now consist of playing Pokemon in bed with my heating pad and ignoring the rest of the world. If you need me, that's where I am.
