     IT IS NOT AS THOUGH SHE SOUGHT OUT THIS APARTMENT IN SPECIFIC. knowing where you will go, where you will live, where you will step before you do it is ... it’s odd. it means circe knew where she would wind up, who her neighbor would be, but she still didn’t SEEK IT. this is just the least expensive apartment in hawkins that gets decent light. LIVING BESIDE NAIROBI IS NO WORSE THAN LIVING ANYWHERE ELSE IN THIS TOWN WOULD BE. every inch of ground here is ... tainted with too much - - - everything. too many feet. too many experiments. too many lives and deaths and too many ... things that should not be here. that should have remained locked beyond their barrier. THINGS THAT WOULD BE FAR TOO INTERESTED IN HER. circe ought to be glad she is not made of the same stuff as them, the stuff they can feel.

     “hey,” her thin voice feels loud in the narrow hallway and she offers a stack of envelopes she does not need to open to read to nairobi, “these are - did - they were delivered to ... my apartment. mixed up. i don’t think they were, were - are - very important, though. just ... junk mail.” circe wraps dark hair around the fingers of the hand not holding the envelopes.

“It’s just a tattoo, man; it doesn’t mean shit.” One of the few tattoos on Eddie’s body that really did mean nothing because he didn’t remember getting it. He’d just assumed he must have been really high or drunk. But that really explained nothing; the ink had been there since he was twelve, at least that was what Eddie believed. In truth, twelve years was only the age he recalled first acknowledging it. He didn’t have a clue how long it had really been there. Wayne said he knew nothing about it either, and why would Wayne ever lie to him about something like that?

Instinctively, Eddie covered the 010 with his jacket sleeve. It bothered him more than he’d like that she kept staring at it and asking questions his brain couldn’t comprehend answers to. “Maybe I got it when I was ten,” He dramatically threw his hands up to deflect from the terrible reasoning. Who would give a ten-year-old a tattoo?

Echo continues to prove the demonic woman right in every single town she visits, including this one. She’s just lucky Nai was here this time to help --- not only to serve punches, but take them as well. The brunette winces as she presses the heel of her thumb into her cheek ( yeah, that’ll bruise ) and laughs humorlessly. “Right as rain.
