REASONS TO COME EARLY: Hop Along

The first and only time I saw Hop Along was when they opened for Modest Mouse in 2015. At the time, the only thing I could pay attention to was lead singer Frances Quinlan’s unbelievably unique voice. Wow. The raspy qualities and way she yearns while singing brings an incredible amount of emotion into their music. They have come out with some catchy and beautiful music on both albums, Get Disowned and Painted Shut. The opening track of their second album, “The Knock,” is by far my favorite. If you get the chance, please check them out live, whether on YouTube, or hey, at the Club on July 26! You know when you see an unfamiliar band, then get really into them after you’ve seen them, and only want to see them again with the knowledge and appreciation you now have? Yeah, that’s me. Don’t do that to yourself! Check them out now, get madly into them, and then see them in July! It will amaze.
