Workshop progress 4 & 5 Aug
4 Aug
Finally finished putting up all the monitor holders and glass/mirror holder. We did find a mistake whereby the mirror holders are fixed and we couldn’t put the mirror in, so we had to remove one side of the mirror holders. But then we removed the wrong side (the side that is not the door...) ! So hammer hammer we go, and eventually got it right. Finally..
We also edited the video, and it was tedious at first because we had to change the timelapse photos to black and white, one by one, until we realised that the effects could be changed to all the pics at once... (facepalm).
5 Aug
Today we painted on the wood primer to get the wood ready for spray paint.
Drilled some holes for the back panel for ventilation. Will drill holes for the panel on the right as well on Monday (couldn’t finish it as workshop closed).
We made a big mess on the ground, and we are really apologetic about that... We will clean the mess up on Monday! (We didn’t do it as it was late, and there weren’t any cleaning supplies around.) Hindsight’s 20/20, and we realised we should have put newspaper before painting the primer like a good citizen, we are sorry that we didn’t think beforehand..
Overall this whole building process has really shown us that we are not the type to plan excessively, and think about all the small things that could go wrong when we are building. We seem more like the “We’ll cross that bridge when we get there” and “fix the problem when it becomes a problem” type of people. We realise that that is not something to be proud of, but problems happen, and it gives us the chance to be creative with our solutions.
