The Paint Pack is here!

Over 35 natural media painting brushes that behave like traditional paint mediums.

I’m really excited about this set. I’ve been refining these for over 2 months and now they’re finally ready! To my knowledge, there’s nothing like this out there for Manga Studio. The software is known for it’s great inking engine and material patterns, but with the updates in MS5 it has powerful painting abilities as well.

Acrylics in Clip Studio Paint

Part of the Paint Pack toolset - coming soon

Acrylic paints are an extremely versatile medium. They can be used to build up thick layers of color for an oil-like effect or thinned down with water to produce watercolor-ish transparency. Many artists prefer working with acrylics because of its quick drying time, water solubility, and ability for texture.

The following brushes are built with these qualities in mind. Here’s a quick preview of 3 (of 6) acrylic brushes from the upcoming Paint Pack toolset:

Standard Acrylic

Applying acrylic straight from the tube gives thick, full-bodied strokes that dries quickly. This brush builds up full-intensity color and leaves a textured edge where paint is “drying out”. A full pressure stroke gives a saturated clean edge while lower pressure allows for color blending.

Acrylic & Medium:

Mixing acrylic paint with gel medium extends its drying time and changes its consistency. This brush emulates that effect for smoother blending.

Acrylic & Water: 

Watering down acrylics thins color and give the paint an almost watercolor-like consistency. This brush emulates a light application of water-thinned paint for glazing and blending.
