I think it would be cute if Paintbrush initially developed a crush on Mepad because he's taller than them. They're very unused to others being taller than them, especially during season 2, and it is unexpectedly very attractive to them. Sometimes when Mepad would speak to them, they'd get a bit distracted by having to look up rather than down to look at Mepad's eyes.
Remember how Mepad the KING said 'Mr. and Ms. Paintbrush'? That's also very attractive to Painty. An attempt to properly gender them that isn't randomly assigning she/her or he/him to them!! So greatly appreciated, makes them feel like themself, yeah? And if/when Mepad starts questioning his gender a little bit, he has the perfect helper beside him!!
Mepad subconsciously takes photos of Painty. He just think about how pretty they look at a certain moment, and a picture will be taken just like that! And maybe he doesn't delete them. Maybe he has a secret folder of Painty photos he looks through frequently. No one ever has to know.
Paintpad + Lightbulb + Toilet double date! It's not actually a double date since Toilet and Lightbulb aren't dating, but they do both want to tag along while their best friends enjoy a romantic outing! They could have fun and bounce off each others' energy while Paintbrush and Mepad mutually enjoy the feeling of watching their silly friends have fun.
Speaking of Lightbulb, she gives Mepad a shovel talk. Though, it's Lightbulb, so rather than a normal intimidating shovel talk, it's a more literal one. She just holds a shovel while talking to Mepad. Doesn't bring it up once in conversation. Maybe spins it around a few times or digs a small hole while they're chatting. She thinks it went very well, and Mepad gets what she was trying to do two weeks later.
