Improvement: Paketti Dynamic Views now has a total of 9 Dynamic Views, split across three dialogs (1-3, 4-6, 7-9). The reason is that I've added Edit Mode, Play, Pattern Follow and Metronome controls. You can even use these to create your own combined shortcut macros, such as, a shortcut that turns on Metronome, Edit Mode, Play and Pattern Follow (and moves you to Pattern Editor), for instance. Feature: Paketti Step Mute. I came across this by accident, while having Groovebox8120 open, and inputting actual melodic notes (instead of C-4 to trigger a drumsound). I was using a midi controller which was showing the steps, i.e. notes would show as highlighted buttons. i pressed the buttons to unhighlight them, and realized, no, wait, this is a stepsequencer for notes, for muting and unmuting them. so first you input some notes to a pattern, then you use the stepsequencer buttons on your midicontroller to set the volume of the notes between "play-as-is" and "00", so basically a method for muting and unmuting arpeggios or complex melodic lines or beats, live and on the fly.. heres some additional descriptions: The mechanism is volume, not deletion.Muting a step stores that line's current volume and sets it to `00`. Un-muting restores the stored value byte-for-byte (a step that had no volume set returns to full volume). Nothing about the note, instrument, delay, or panning is touched — only volume, and only reversibly. A dynamic sliding window follows the playheadN buttons map to N consecutive pattern lines. The window tracks the playhead while playing and the edit cursor when stopped. So with an LPD8's 8 pads, the pads always address "the 8 lines where you are." As playback rolls into the next 8-line chunk, the pads automatically re-map to those lines. Button i toggles line i of the current window. A live dialog shows the pattern spaceIt draws the current window as clickable step buttons — green = playing, red = muted, brighter = the playhead line — and follows along as the song plays.
