Update: for the longest time I have been having a trouble communicating the Specification of a feature, how it should work, etc, about Paketti, and then using that as a Help readme.md so people could understand what the feature is and how it works. Improvement: New feature: Basenote Octave Up/Down — shifts the basenote of all samples in the selected instrument by one octave (12 semitones), up or down. How it works: If the instrument has slice markers, only the first sample's basenote is shifted (slices inherit) Otherwise, all samples in the instrument are shifted together Fully clamped: at C-0 it won't go lower, at the top of the range it won't error — it just stays put and tells you Supports undo (Ctrl+Z) Status bar shows you the result with a nice ▲/▼ arrow and the new note name Registered in: 6 keybindings (Global, Pattern Editor, Sample Editor — each has Up and Down) 6 menu entries (Sample Navigator, Sample Editor, Instrument Box) 2 MIDI mappings Paketti on Patreon

Improvement: Can no longer set Dialog of Dialogs to "1 per column" which would result in a dialog that no longer opens. Some minor tweaks to ordering of Dialog of Dialogs menus and naming so the buttons do not fluctuate in a visually displeasing way. Paketti on Patreon

Improvement: Beatsync Seamless Auto-Chop is fixed. If you tried it and got an error popup, that is gone. It now runs cleanly all the way through: trim the silence off the front and tail, normalize, chop the sample into as many pieces as it needs to stay inside Renoise's beatsync limit, keyzone them up the keyboard as a drumkit, and lay the notes across the pattern so playback locks to your song BPM. Drop a long loop or one-shot on a track, hit Beatsync Seamless Auto-Chop, and the pattern plays it back at the original duration, in time, no clicks at the chunk boundaries. Where: Sample Editor right-click → Paketti → Process → Beatsync Seamless (Auto-Chop Long Sample), or Main Menu → Tools → Paketti → Samples → Beatsync Seamless, or the Global keybinding "Beatsync Seamless Auto-Chop", or the matching MIDI mapping. Feature: Paketti Preferences now has a button for sending your current Paketti Preferences + KeyBindings.xml to me as an email. Update to the Email button in Paketti Preferences (Folders row, bottom of the dialog). When you hit "Email preferences.xml to esaruoho", the new message that opens now comes pre-loaded with: → Your Paketti preferences file (toggles, paths, import/export defaults, device chain folder, customised dialogs) → Your Renoise KeyBindings file (every keyboard shortcut you have customised in Renoise itself, including Paketti keybindings) → Subject line that already says which version of Renoise you are on → Body that already says which Renoise version and which OS you are using You just type one or two lines about what is going wrong, and send. That is it. Why both files: Paketti reads its own settings from one file, but the keyboard shortcuts you have set live in Renoise's own file in the same folder. If something feels weird because of a shortcut clash, missing key, or a Paketti feature being toggled wrong, having both files plus your Renoise version means I can usually see the problem in under a minute instead of asking you ten follow-up questions. How the platforms handle it: → macOS: Mail.app opens with both files already attached. → Linux: your default mail app opens with both files already attached (via xdg-email). → Windows with Thunderbird: opens with both files already attached. → Windows without Thunderbird: opens an empty message to me and shows both files in Explorer. Drag them in, write a line, send. Nothing leaves your machine until you press Send in your own mail program. The button just sets up the message for you. Improvement: both SBx and Pattern Status Monitor have been improved so that they are not so heavy on the CPU when scrolling up and down quick on Pattern Matrix. Also, added SBx to Paketti Preferences, so that if you send me a screenshot of the Paketti Preferences and ask why things are laggy, I can deduce more information out of the screenshot. Feature: Paketti — Beatsync Seamless (Auto-Chop Long Sample) Renoise's Beatsync tops out at 512 lines, so any sample longer than that can't lock to the song tempo on its own. This new tool does the whole live-usage workaround for you in one shot. You pick a sample, hit the keybinding (or menu, or MIDI map), and Paketti: 1. Trims silence off the start and end of the sample (-60 dB). 2. Normalizes the level. 3. Looks at your song's BPM and LPB and figures out how many copies it needs to make and what Beatsync value each copy should get so they all stay under the 512 cap. 4. Duplicates the sample that many times and trims each copy to an equal slice of the original. 5. Lays them out as a chromatic drumkit starting at C-4 — one chunk per key. 6. Turns Autoseek on and Autofade off on every chunk, and switches Beatsync on with the correct line value. 7. Resizes the current pattern to fit and writes the notes into the selected track so the chunks play back-to-back, seamlessly, locked to the song tempo. The result: a sample that's way too long to Beatsync on its own now plays at its real duration, perfectly in time with the song — and the whole thing is one undo step. Feature: PakettiHack: BeatSyncHack — sync samples past Renoise's 512-line ceiling When you turn on Beat Sync on a sample, Renoise time-stretches it to fit exactly N pattern lines at the current BPM, so the sample follows tempo instead of fighting it. Renoise's UI lets you dial that N from 1 up to 512. At the default LPB=4 that's 128 beats — 32 bars at 4/4. Plenty for a 1-bar loop or a 16-bar loop. Not enough for: - A 64-bar pad you want locked to project tempo (needs 1024+ lines) - Whole-song stems, field recordings, long ambient textures - Extreme stretch effects: set BeatSyncLines to 16384 on a 1-second sample at 120 BPM and you've turned it into a 30-minute granular drone — a production technique, not a glitch Here's the trick: Renoise's UI and Lua API both clamp BeatSyncLines to 1–512, but the XRNI file format on disk just stores it as a plain integer. Write `16384` into the XML, load the file, and the engine honors it. The 512 cap is a UI guardrail, not an engine limit. BeatSyncHack automates the smuggle. Click "Set BeatSyncLines 16384" (or the Dialog for custom values up to 65535) and Paketti: 1. Saves your selected instrument to a temp .xrni 2. Opens the zip, edits the selected sample's BeatSyncLines value 3. Re-zips (audio data untouched, no quality loss) 4. Loads it back into the same slot 5. Restores your name + selection, returns focus to the middle frame so you can play immediately Trade-offs to know: the UI valuebox still displays 512 (display clamp), so trust the status bar confirmation. Re-saving through normal Renoise UI may clamp the value back — rerun the hack after any roundtrip. Pick your BeatSync mode (Repitch / Time-Stretch Texture / Percussion) for the character you want.
