She captured our imagination and quickly went from the pages of her own book, Ms. Marvel, to big team books like the Avengers and Inhumans and mega crossover events like Civil War II. Part of the “All New Marvel” wave (that saw Sam Wilson’s Falcon promoted to Captain America and Logan’s clone/daughter Laura Kinney promoted to Wolverine) Kamala is a nerdy Pakistani teenager from New Jersey who is exposed to a Terrigen bomb which activates her latent Inhuman powers. A polymorph, she can stretch and change her body into whatever shape she needs to, including shrinking to as small as an action figure to growing to the size of a building. She took on the name Ms. Marvel as a tribute to Captain Marvel, Carol Danvers, and swore to defend Jersey City before catapulting into the spotlight and saving the world.
