Reverse monsters and mana AU. So righteous knight/paladin Lance who's very proper and big on chivalry. Shiro is the mischievous 'thief' maybe more Robin hood esk - animal traits of your choice (my mind went to fox or wolf).

Yooo! Yes! This so adorable! And I love it!

I could picture Shiro being a wolf-person. Really big and intimidating (fluffy ears and tail...maybe a bit of a himbro), that is kind of amazing his stealth is so high, and like he's a such a good thief and conman. And his a chaotic good, so of course he only steals from the rich, or generally people that can avoid to lose a shiny thing or two.

And Lance being a righteous Paladin, is pretty good. He's a proper gentleman, and just very polite and kind and duty bound.

Lance takes a quest from a local rich town's ruler to stop a thief stealing from the town. And he is determined to stop them and helped out. The meet like first night, when Lance stumbles into a trap Shiro laid out. And Lance is kind of terrified at the sight if Shiro, (while Shiro is luke "cute" and wagging his tail). Shiro steals most of Lance coins (he leaves just enough for a night at the inn and a hot meal there) before leaving again. Lance kinds it kind of weird, but figures it is maybe a warning of some kind, so he persists and trying to stop Shiro.

It goes on for a few nights...until Lance catches Shiro in the daytime, giving villagers so food. Lance confronts Shiro, and basically that Shiro takes from though who can afford it and help the poor out with it...and how the person that hired him is corrupt. Basically he talks Lance out of helping the person who hired him very easily and they end up stopping then together.

After that, they make a little party together and help other places.

(And Shiro always has a wagging tail when Lance is around.)
