Marachius felt his mace slapping against his thigh as he walked along the streets of Boralus with his squad. They’d been ordered to head over to Proudmore Keep. The five paladins stayed together as they moved through the crowd. Marachius tried to follow the lead of his teammates, keeping his hand near his weapon and scanning the crowd for anything unusual.
“Don’t expect much excitement,” Nara said as she glanced over at Marachius. “But better to keep your eyes open just the same.”
“Let’s stay focused,” Kiernan called back as he continued to lead the group through the people on the street.
“Yes, sir,” Marachius answered. As he followed along, he continued to scan that crowd. And that’s when he saw him.
Jonah was walking straight towards them. Dressed in a fine jacket, he grinned at people as he passed. Most moved out of his way as he walked among them. And now he was directly ahead of Marachius and his squad. And he was moving directly towards them.
Marc started scanning the crowds to either side of him. There were a fair amount of people out on the streets and he took great care to study every face. Because of this attention to detail, he didn’t notice when the rest of his squad had shifted to the side a little. Suddenly, Marc came to a stop as he walked into someone.
“Watch where you’re going,” a voice yelled at Marachius.
“What?” Marc turned and knocked his elbow into the owner of the voice. There was Jonah standing next to him.
“Are you an idiot?” Jonah growled.
“I’m sorry, sir,” Marachius replied, taking a step back from Jonah.
“Sorry? You walked right into me!”
“I wasn’t paying attention,” Marachius tried to explain.
“Is something wrong?” Kiernan asked as he moved beside the younger paladin.
“This moron ran into me,” Jonah explained with a frown. “I expect that he’ll be reprimanded for his incompetence.”
“Of course, sir,” the lead paladin responded. “Were you injured?”
“Lucky for you all, I wasn’t. Otherwise I’d have him arrested.”
“Of course sir,” Kiernan said with a nod. “We will deal with this accordingly.”
“See that you do,” Jonah said with a huff before walking away.
“What was that all about?” Nara asked.
“That was Jonah,” Marc offered quietly, glancing to see that the gentleman had moved far enough away.
“Reggy’s Jonah?”
“Well, not any more, I think.”
“Something happened?” Nara asked.
“Yeah.”
“Let’s get on to the keep,” Kiernan said. “Try not to run anyone else over, Ainsley.”
The group of five paladins guided their chargers through the streets of Boralus, making their way back towards the docks. The hooves of the chargers were caked with the mud of a long journey, and clumps fell off onto the streets as the horses clip-clopped past all the pedestrians. The paladins, though weary, sat upright in the saddle and carefully guided the chargers single-file past all the people.
“Keep up, Ainsley!”
Marachius raised his head and realized that he had fallen behind. Worse still, the other four were all staring back at him. Marc nudged his horse in the side and caught up with the rest. Once back with the group, he nodded and the others started moving again.
“Window shopping?” Nara asked, glancing over her shoulder at the younger paladin.
“I was looking at a dress.”
“That’s a little bit fancy for you, isn’t it?” Nara replied with a smirk.
“Not for me,” Marc answered, rolling his eyes. “A winter veil gift for Reggy.”
“Ohh,” Nara said with a wide grin. “Things are getting serious, eh?”
“No. Its just she’s been wearing them more. So I was thinking I’d get her another one. So she’d have more choices when she’s going out to help out.”
“I guess that’s okay.”
“Do you think its a bad idea?” Marc asked suddenly.
“I don’t know. Never met the lady myself. Worried she’ll get the wrong idea?”
“What do you mean?”
“Give her the idea that things are serious? Unless that’s what you’re trying to do,” Nara added with a sly smile.
Marachius was quiet for a moment before finally responding. “No. I doubt it’d matter anyway.”
“You’ve talked about this before?”
“Well, no. Not really.”
“Then you never know,” Nara responded with a shrug of her shoulders.
Marachius sat on his horse, thinking to himself. But before he could find his words again, the group pulled up to their barracks. Silently, Marc slid out of the saddle and started untying his bags. He glanced at Nara once, but she was busy with her own gear. Marc let out a sigh and shook his head before turning back to his own equipment.

//
an indie mix for shiro! i mean, not all of it is indie but MOST of it is indie ANYWAYS i want shiro to be happy and i think that quiet, but also upbeat indie stuff is the way to his heart.
there may or not be an evil!shiro mix in the works i am Shame
“I hope I don’t need to remind you [Lance] that the only reason you’re here is that the best pilot in your class had a discipline issue and flunked out. Don’t follow in his footsteps."

an alternative rock / garage rock mix for keith! i imagine him listening to this kind of stuff and just doing whatever it is he likes to do in his spare time.
worst pilot ever // 8 tracks // 21 minutes // individual post
"This isn't a simulator!" "Well, that's good! I always crash the simulator."
//
an electronic mix for lance! i think he’d prefer stuff that’s loud and fast paced because it would get him in the piloting mood and increase his adrenaline.
go. be great. // 8 tracks // 26 minutes // individual post
“If you get too worried about what could go wrong, you might miss a chance to do something great.”
//
a lighter electronic mix for pidge! i think she would enjoy electronic / pop stuff, as well as some 8-bit. not all of this mix is instrumental, it’s mostly vocals, but there are one or two songs on here that are.
i’m a leg! // 8 tracks // 20 minutes // individual post
“The Yellow Lion is caring and kind. Its pilot is one who puts the needs of others above his own. His heart must be mighty. As the leg of Voltron, you will lift the team up and hold them together.”
//
hunk!!! his mix is sort of similar to pidge’s in that there’s a lot of soft electronic in it, but this one is all instrumentals! i think he’d like songs that remind him of quiet days in the kitchen, or on the beach with friends.
