❛ is there something wrong? ❜ he can’t help but ask upon passing by the other exorcist. it was likely none of his business. it was hardly polite to pry, but he couldn’t just leave her without a word. it was probable that she’d just returned from the field, and he knew all too well how treacherous a place that could be.

He still keeps his gaze away from her, feeling embarrassed that he did. The fact she seemed okay with it (and maybe a little over eager about it) made him feel a little less embarrassed about the accident. Swallowing audibly, he looks to her, smiling a bit sheepishly.
“...Some men were saying something about how they were going to try to win your hand... so I just... said ‘She’s my girlfriend’.” And may have gotten himself into a lot more than just protecting her from shady men like that.

The cool breeze against her skin was what brought Velvet back to consciousness. She wholly expected to wake up beside Laphicet in her home, ready to start on that special quiche for Arthur. She didn’t expect to wake up in the middle of a field, her head splitting with a headache. She looked i horror to see the stump where her left arm was missing just above her elbow. She was too paralyzed even to scream, simply falling backwards into the grass looking for anyone who could help her and tell her what was going on.
Oscar: Get away from me. I don't need your sinful temptations.
