with Furnier, are you doing the bg3 warlock rule of their power being given and directly tied to his patron, or the 5e rule of a more master/apprentice type relationship?

Honestly not entirely sure so I'll have to ask. I'd possibly lean towards the BG3 rule as what we've discussed of his backstory it sounds more like he's allowed to borrow some of his patron's powers but I can't be certain.
