This sweet, tangy, and smoky Paleo BBQ sauce is ideal for enhancing the flavor of your Whole30 meals. Compared to store-bought sauces, this one is healthier because it is made with natural ingredients and doesn't contain refined sugar.
Ingredients: 1 cup pitted dates. 1 cup tomato paste. 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar. 2 tablespoons coconut aminos. 2 cloves garlic, minced. 1 teaspoon smoked paprika. 1/2 teaspoon ground mustard. 1/2 teaspoon onion powder. 1/4 teaspoon sea salt. 1/4 teaspoon black pepper. 1/4 cup water adjust for desired consistency.
Instructions: To soften, soak the pitted dates in warm water for approximately fifteen minutes. The soaked dates, tomato paste, coconut aminos, apple cider vinegar, minced garlic, smoked paprika, ground mustard, onion powder, sea salt, black pepper, and water should all be combined in a blender. Process until smooth, adding or subtracting water to achieve the desired consistency. Once the mixture is in a saucepan, simmer it over low heat for ten to fifteen minutes, stirring from time to time, until it thickens. Before using, remove from heat and allow to cool. Use as a dipping sauce or as a glaze for grilled meats. Have fun!
