Newbie here. What is SVP and Paleofest?

SVP: Society of Vertebrate Paleontology. They hold a conference every year, and this year its in Dallas. I, living in Chicago, and a broke graduate student, cannot attend.

Paleofest: Similar sort of deal, but not limited to vertebrates and much more non-scientist friendly - meaning, kids go. It’s basically Paleontology Con and it happens every year at the Burpee Museum in Rockford, IL. This is fairly close to Chicago so I’m definitely going!!! My advisor even cleared it and everything :D I’m really excited and it’s going to be a good time.
