The Alfea halls were quiet at this hour, the usual chatter of students replaced by the faint flickering of magical lanterns. You sat on the edge of a desk in the potion lab, your fingers tracing the cool glass of a small medicine vial. The day had been long, and exhaustion clung to your limbs like a heavy fog. You knew you needed to take your medication, but sometimes, even that felt like a battle.
A familiar warmth filled the room as a soft voice interrupted your thoughts.
"Still here?" Professor Palladium stepped inside, his usual calm demeanor untouched by the lateness of the hour. He was dressed in his elegant robes, the faint shimmer of magic still clinging to him from his last lesson. His gaze, always observant, landed on the vial in your hands.
You sighed, offering a tired smile. "Yeah… Just needed a moment."
He didn’t press, nor did he question. Instead, he moved to stand beside you, leaning slightly against the desk in a way that made him feel less like a professor and more like a quiet guardian.
"You often stay behind after class," he mused.
You nodded, gripping the vial a little tighter. "It's easier sometimes. Less noise. Less pressure."
He hummed thoughtfully. You had confided in him once—about the condition that made your magic sometimes flicker, the exhaustion that crept up on you without warning, and the medication that helped but didn’t erase the struggle. You never expected him to care beyond polite concern, but Palladium was different. He never treated you as fragile. He simply… understood.
"Would you like some water?" he asked, as if sensing your hesitation.
You exhaled slowly. "Yeah… that’d help."
With a wave of his hand, a glass of water appeared beside you, the liquid shimmering faintly with a hint of magic. You glanced at him, and he only offered a small, patient smile. No pressure. No judgment. Just him, waiting.
Taking a deep breath, you uncapped the vial and swallowed the pill, following it with a sip of water. The tension in your chest loosened, just a little.
"There," Palladium said softly, as if you had just accomplished something grand. Maybe, in a way, you had.
You looked at him, studying the way his hair caught the dim light. He had always been composed, almost ethereal, but moments like this—where he chose to stay, to care—made him feel entirely real.
"Thank you," you murmured.
He tilted his head, a soft amusement in his gaze. "No need to thank me. I only offered water."
You rolled your eyes playfully. "You did more than that, and you know it."
His smile grew just a fraction, something warm flickering beneath his usual serene expression. He didn’t deny it. Instead, he offered something else—his presence, his understanding. And in that moment, it was enough.
Maybe, with him around, the weight wouldn’t feel so heavy after all.
I was rather shocked to see two students fly into my infirmary, not walk. Fly. If students were using their Winx on campus, that meant only one thing. Someone was hurt, badly.
Staying calm, I quickly gather my portable medic kit. Holding up a hand to quiet their nervous rambling.
"We don't have time for explanations, just take me to them." I said, urgently.
If someone is seriously hurt I don't have the time to translate flustered teenager babble. They mean well of course, but first year students don't do very well under pressure.
I followed the girls to the courtyard where my blood ran cold upon seeing who the poor soul was.
Professor Athos Palladium. He looked pale, and was moaning quietly. With a worried Faragonda kneeling beside him.
I rushed over to his side, using one of my physical diagnosis spells. Nothing, no poison, or any lesions of the body, no deep brushing either. That wasn't good, that meant there was a problem with his magic. Which for an elf, whose magic runs through their own veins just as their blood could be deadly. "This isn't good," I mutter.
Faragonda and I looked to the two students who were still hovering nearby.
"Alright girls, help Ms. (L/n) get Professor Palladium to the infirmary! Time is of the essence!" Faragonda commanded.
The girls and I quickly picked Palladium up and carried him to the infirmary. The girls helped me get him on to one of the sterile white beds. A loud groan escapes him as I settle him in. Dismissing the girls back to their classes. Using my strongest magic diagnosis spell I discovered there was a large corruption on his left shoulder. While it hasn't gone too deep yet, if it goes beneath the skin and gets into his bloodstream it could reach his heart and could do one of two things. It would destroy him from the inside out, or he would be transformed into something monstrous.
Acting quickly I take off his shirt, pausing for only a second to whisper an apology that he certainly wouldn't hear.
There was a blackish-purple, spidery, mark on his left shoulder. It was spreading visibly down his torso and up his neck. This just went from bad to worse, I'm going to need a cleansing ritual, a strong one. I won't be able to do it myself.
"Oh Palladium, what did they do to you?" I whispered, stroking his cheek wistfully.
After a call to Faragonda, who gathered a few of the other professors and Flora. Even though she was a student she was always a fantastic healer, and her natural affinity for nature based magic would help in this specific case. The ritual was long, and hard. The corruption fought tooth and nail, but we were finally able to confine it and eliminate it from his system.
Unfortunately, due to how far the corruption got in the first place Palladium was too weak to be moved. He would have to rest in the infirmary until his magic regenerates. The professors retired to their beds, naturally the process of cleansing dark magic is exhausting, I was tired myself.
"Is there anything else I can do Ms. (L/n)?" Flora asked, in her sweet gentle way.
"Oh no Flora, you've done more than enough! Go get some rest, I can handle everything from here sweetie." I said.
Flora floated back to her dorm, I simply smiled and shook my head.
“I swear that girl is from a whole other plane of existence…” I laughed quietly to myself.
I looked down at Palladium, he hadn’t really moved since we finished the cleansing. But the mark on his shoulder was gone, only a faint paleness was still there. He would be in a magically induced healing coma for the next three days, and probably have to remain in the infirmary for at least one week.
My face grew warm at the thought of spending that much time alone with the handsome professor. Shaking that thought out of my head quickly I moved to set up the required monitors. Settling in for a long night of caretaking.
It was only two in the morning when I was woken up by Palladium groaning. I scrambled to check the monitors, but everything was stable. Palladium seemed just as still as before. Until he shifted letting out another groan and what sounded like a whisper, but it wasn't intelligible. So I leaned closer, trying to make out if he was having a nightmare or not. Palladium spoke again after a moment with a furrowed brow.
"Ugh- (Y/n) I- no, no…" He murmured to himself.
So it was a nightmare… And it had something to do with me. I leaned back again, and without thinking much about it. I started to stroke his cheek, tenderly. His brow softened and his frown settled into a gentle smile. A smile I had grown to adore from afar. Then he spoke again this time a little louder and more distinct.
"I think I love you (Y/n)…"
I halted in my movements, my very thoughts stuttered.
"What?" I ended up whispering to myself. So in a state of shock I was completely numb to Palladium turning to his other side with a contented sigh.
I shook it off sure I was only dreaming, or at least that his whispered confession meant nothing. So I resumed my night watch.
It had been a week since then. Palladium is wide awake and is finally able to feed himself without aid. He also has grown more talkative, making small talk with me during check ups and food deliveries. Though one morning during his breakfast he asked me something I hoped he wouldn't.
"(Y/n)?" He said.
I turned to him from the monitor I was checking over.
"Yes, Athos?" I replied. We had long since been on a first name basis. He had requested my first name and to use his fairly recently after he woke up.
"Did I say anything while I was asleep?" He asked, fingering the bed sheet nervously.
I froze for a moment thinking back to that first night…
"A-ah, umm… well. You said that- you said you loved me at one point." I said trying to sound casual, and failing miserably.
Athos went red, stuttering out a simple "o-oh, well… Oh d-dear."
I scrambled to retrieve the ease that had fled the room.
"Well I'm sure it didn't mean anything. You were deep in a medical coma and fresh off of a dark magic infection! I wasn't bothered by it." I said, lying through my teeth.
Athos didn't brush it off and resume our jovial atmosphere like I thought he would. Instead he looked me directly in the eye. While still a little flushed, he looked more serious than I had seen him in quite some time.
"But what if it was- it is true?" He said
"What?" I asked, my voice barely audible.
"I do love you (Y/n), I'm not quite sure when it happened. But I have been in love with you for quite some time…" He said, looking me directly in the eye.
His sudden confidence seemed to waiver then, and he turned down the bed. Staring intently at the light blue sheets, though if his ears were anything to go by he was hiding a furious blush. One which I’m sure I was mirroring to some extent, judging by the heat of my own cheeks. Then I decided to do something, something I wasn’t very sure of.
I sat down on the chair by his bed, gently taking his burning face in my hands. Turning him towards me I leaned forward and kissed him.
I felt him stiffen with a bit of shock and a mix of nervousness, then I got a soft but stalwart response.
It was wonderful, honestly I think it was the best kiss of my entire life. His lips were soft, and gentle, sparking a rush of adoration down my spine. I could feel myself smile into the kiss, his hand moved to my cheek. The tender brush sending fireworks across my skin, both taste and smell wrapped around me. Orange with a hint of mint, when we broke apart it was like he had taken a piece with him. So I chased him to get it back, but to my surprise he got to me first. It was fireworks, and gentle caresses all over again. Then we broke away for the final time, panting a bit to get our lungs filled again. I couldn’t help but laugh, I was so incandescently happy.
“So if you didn’t catch my meaning, I love you too Athos..” I giggled with a sigh.
He let out a mirthful chuckle of his own. Then his eyes with a deep affection, and softness touched his forehead to mine and said.
Y/N has a crush on her colleague, Palladium. She however doesn’t tell him as it doesn’t seem like he likes her back. Will that change when Valtor kidnaps her and tries to turn her evil?

It isn’t easy being Bloom’s older sister. Y/N is always worried what might happen to her little sister - the Trix, Darkar. And now Valtor.
She sighs. Will this ever end? Will the Winx girls ever be able to take a break and be teenagers?
She really hopes that they will be able to stop the dark wizard. And the Trix, of course. It’s always the Trix.
Her train of thoughts is interrupted as Palladium enters the room.
“Oh, hello, Y/N. I’m sorry to interrupt, I didn’t expect anybody to be in here” he says, giving her a kind smile.

“Professor Palladium?” Musa raised an eyebrow, noticing his distraction. "Is everything alright?"
---
It was just another ordinary day at Alfea, and Palladium stood at the front of his classroom, his students seated in neat rows, all eyes focused on him as he explained the intricacies of magic defense. He was known for his calm and collected demeanor, a reliable instructor in all matters of combat and magical discipline. Today, however, something was off. He was pacing slightly, his usual focus slipping as he occasionally glanced toward the door, his mind clearly somewhere else.
Palladium blinked, snapping out of his thoughts, his face flushing slightly. "Ah, yes. Everything is fine, Miss Musa. Just a small... distraction."
The students exchanged curious glances, but they didn't press him further, assuming it was just a fleeting moment of forgetfulness.
Suddenly, the door to the classroom swung open, causing a few of the students to jump in surprise. Standing in the doorway was a woman — a strikingly beautiful woman with long, flowing hair and a gentle smile. She was holding a lunch bag, and as she stepped inside, all eyes turned to her in shock. The students had never seen her before.
"Sorry to interrupt," she said, her voice sweet and soft. "But I think someone forgot something this morning."
Palladium’s eyes widened as he quickly turned to her, a soft flush spreading across his cheeks. "Oh… What are you—?"
“I brought your lunch,” she smiled, walking up to him and gently placing the bag on his desk. “I realized you forgot it when I saw your notes on the counter this morning.”
The room fell silent. The students, stunned by the sudden appearance of this woman, couldn’t help but stare at the beautiful woman standing before them.
“Um… Professor Palladium,” Flora said, her voice breaking the quiet, “You... you’re married?”
Palladium’s face turned an even deeper shade of red, and he rubbed the back of his neck awkwardly. “Yes… I… I am,” he admitted, his voice soft but filled with a touch of embarrassment. He glanced at his wife, who was smiling warmly at the students, completely unaware of the flurry of curiosity building in the classroom.
“I didn't know you had such a beautiful wife, Professor,” Stella said with a grin, her eyes twinkling with playful curiosity. “She's… stunning!”
The students were all whispering amongst themselves now, trying to process the revelation. It seemed impossible that the calm, sometimes shy, instructor they’d all come to respect and admire could be married to someone so enchanting.
"Yes, well, she and I have been married for a while now," Palladium explained, his voice quiet but filled with affection as he looked at his wife. He seemed to relax a little, though his usual shyness was still apparent. "She keeps me grounded."
She smiled softly, her eyes meeting his with warmth. “I know how important his work is here. He’s always so dedicated. But sometimes, he forgets to take care of himself.”
The students couldn’t help but smile at the gentle interaction between the two of them. It was clear to everyone in the room that they had a deep and loving bond.
As she made her way toward the door, waving goodbye to Palladium, the students couldn’t contain their excitement.
“So, what’s she like?” Tecna asked, her voice full of curiosity. “How did you two meet?”
Palladium blinked, surprised by the sudden onslaught of questions. “Well, we met through mutual friends,” he began, his voice slightly more relaxed now that the initial shock had passed. “We’ve known each other for years. She’s… very supportive of everything I do here at Alfea.”
“And she seems really kind,” Flora added, smiling softly. “You two make a really sweet couple.”
“Yeah!” Stella chimed in. “Who would’ve thought the serious Professor Palladium was married to someone so gorgeous? You’ve got to tell us more about her!”
Palladium chuckled nervously, glancing at the door where his wife had exited. “I… I’m not sure I’m the best one to tell you all about her,” he said, his usual shyness creeping back into his tone. “But she’s a wonderful woman. Very caring, always looking out for others.”
The students were still buzzing with questions, intrigued by the idea of Palladium being married to someone so different from his calm, composed persona in class. They couldn't wait to see him in a new light.
“Well, I suppose we can get back to class now,” Palladium said, trying to regain his focus. But his students were too excited, whispering among themselves and still asking questions about his wife.
As the lesson continued, Palladium couldn't help but smile to himself, his heart warmed by the love he shared with her. Though the class had been momentarily thrown off course, it had been a nice reminder that sometimes, it was the little things — like a forgotten lunch — that brought unexpected joy into the day.

Professor Palladium had always prided himself on his knowledge. As one of Alfea’s most respected teachers, he had studied magic, ancient spells, and mystical creatures for years. But there was one mystery he had never been able to solve—you, his wife.
You were human… or so he thought. Unlike the fairies at Alfea, you had no wings, no magic that he could sense, yet there was something different about you. You had an aura of quiet strength, a presence that demanded attention even in silence.
He never questioned it. After all, love wasn’t about understanding everything—it was about trust.
But that trust would soon be tested in ways he never imagined.
---
Alfea was under siege.
Stormy, Icy, and Darcy stood at the entrance of the school, their dark magic crackling like a storm ready to consume everything in its path. Fairies screamed, running for cover as spells exploded against the castle walls.
You had been walking through the courtyard when the attack began. Instinct kicked in immediately. You knew the Trix weren’t just here to cause trouble—they were looking for something.
Or someone.
You turned to Palladium, whose protective stance made your heart ache. He had no idea what you were capable of, but he was still ready to fight for you.
“Run,” you said firmly, gripping his wrist. “Take the students and the Winx and go.”
He hesitated. “But—”
“No time to argue,” you interrupted, eyes burning with intensity. “Please, just go.”
The Winx, hovering nearby, exchanged glances before reluctantly retreating with the students.
You let out a slow breath, waiting until you were certain they were gone. Then, you turned back to the Trix.
“You should leave,” you warned, voice calm but firm. “Now.”
Icy sneered. “And what, let you run off like a scared little human?” She raised a hand, ice forming at her fingertips. “I don’t think so.”
They had no idea who they were dealing with.
You closed your eyes, drawing in the cosmic energy that had slept within you for so long.
“Precure… Metamorphose!”
Light burst from your body, a brilliant swirl of stars and galaxies engulfing you. Your casual clothes faded, replaced by a dazzling suit of celestial armor. The ground trembled beneath you as your transformation completed.
When the light faded, you stood before them—not as a simple human, but as the legendary warrior Cure Galaxy.
The Trix froze.
“…What the—?” Stormy stammered, eyes wide.
Darcy took a cautious step back. “This… this magic isn’t normal fairy magic.”
Icy’s confidence wavered, but she quickly masked it. “Tch. Doesn’t matter who you are. You’re alone.”
You smirked. “Am I?”
From the shadows, Palladium and the Winx stood, completely frozen in shock.
“Th-that’s (Y/N)?” Bloom whispered, eyes wide.
“She’s… a Precure?” Stella gasped.
Palladium’s breath caught in his throat. His wife—his human wife—was glowing with the energy of the cosmos itself, radiating a power that rivaled even the strongest fairies.
But you didn’t know they were there.
Instead, you turned back to the Trix, power radiating from your very soul.
“I warned you,” you said softly, before raising your hands. “Galactic Starburst!”
A cascade of celestial energy erupted from your palms, crashing into the Trix like a meteor shower. The sheer force sent them flying, their screams echoing through the courtyard before they vanished in an explosion of stardust.
Silence.
You exhaled, lowering your hands as the glow around you faded. With a flicker of light, your transformation disappeared, leaving you once again in your human form.
You turned to leave, but then—
“(Y/N)?”
You froze.
Slowly, you turned, and your stomach dropped.
Palladium stood there, his usually calm eyes filled with something between awe and shock. The Winx hovered behind him, equally stunned.
“…You saw.”
It wasn’t a question.
Palladium stepped forward, studying you as if seeing you for the first time. “All this time… You’ve been…?”
You swallowed hard. “I wanted to tell you,” you admitted softly. “But… I didn’t know how.”
His eyes softened. “Why?”
You hesitated. “Because I didn’t want you to see me differently.” You looked away. “I didn’t want to be a warrior to you. I just wanted to be… me.”
For a moment, there was silence. Then—warm hands cupped your face, tilting your gaze back to his.
“You’ve always been you,” Palladium murmured, his voice gentle. “And I have always loved you.”
Your breath hitched. “Even now?”
His lips curved into a small, loving smile. “Especially now.”
Emotion swelled in your chest. You had fought countless battles, faced enemies more terrifying than the Trix, but nothing had ever made your heart race like this moment.
A soft laugh escaped you, teary but warm. “I guess I don’t need to hide anymore.”
He kissed your forehead, holding you close. “Never again.”
Behind you, Stella wiped a tear dramatically. “Okay, that was adorable.”
Musa smirked. “And a little terrifying.”
Bloom shook her head with a smile. “You really are amazing, (Y/N).”
You chuckled. “You guys aren’t scared?”
Flora beamed. “Of you? Never.”
A newfound warmth filled your chest. You had always fought alone, but now… now you didn’t have to.
You weren’t just a warrior. You were a wife, a friend. And for the first time in a long time—

The dim light of the study room danced across Professor Palladium’s face as he poured over a new set of ancient scrolls. You sat across the room, pretending to read a book, but your body ached with exhaustion after your most recent battle as a Hirogaru Sky Precure. You thought you had hidden the injuries well, but you winced slightly when you shifted in your chair.
“Are you alright, my dear?” Palladium’s gentle voice broke the silence, his golden eyes filled with concern.
You plastered on a smile. “I’m fine, just a little sore. I probably strained something while cleaning.”
His gaze lingered, but he didn’t press further, returning to his scrolls. You felt a pang of guilt in your chest. You hated lying to him, but what else could you do? He already carried so much weight on his shoulders as a professor at Alfea, a magical world far removed from your life as a magical girl fighting in secret. How could you burden him with your double life as a Precure?
But your body betrayed you. When you stood up to leave, you stumbled, your vision blurring. Palladium was at your side instantly, catching you before you hit the floor. As he steadied you, his hand brushed against a wound hidden beneath your sleeve. His eyes widened as he felt the warmth of your blood.
“Y/N, what is this?” he asked, his voice sharper than you’d ever heard.
“It’s nothing,” you tried to say, but the stern look in his eyes silenced you. He guided you to a chair and gently pushed up your sleeve to reveal a gash that shimmered faintly with residual magic.
“This… this isn’t a normal wound,” he murmured, his voice shaking. “What’s going on?”
You sighed, realizing you couldn’t keep the truth from him any longer. “Palladium, there’s something I’ve been hiding from you.”
He knelt before you, his hands trembling as he held yours. “Tell me.”
You took a deep breath. “I’m a Precure. A Hirogaru Sky Precure, to be exact. I’ve been fighting to protect the Earth from evil forces for a long time now. That’s why I got hurt.”
For a moment, Palladium said nothing, his expression unreadable. Then, his hands tightened around yours. “Why didn’t you tell me?”
Tears welled up in your eyes as you whispered, “I didn’t want to make you worry more than you already do. You’re always so stressed with your work, and I thought… I thought it would be better if I handled it on my own.”
His gaze softened, but the worry in his eyes didn’t fade. “Y/N, you’re my wife. I love you more than anything. If you’re putting yourself in danger, I need to know. I can’t lose you.”
You reached up to cup his face, your thumb brushing away a tear that had slipped down his cheek. “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to hurt you. I just didn’t want you to feel helpless.”
He leaned into your touch, his voice barely above a whisper. “I would never feel helpless as long as I have you. But I need you to promise me something.”
“What is it?”
“Promise me you’ll tell me when you’re hurt, or when you’re in danger. Let me share the burden, even if I can’t fight beside you. Please.”
You nodded, your heart swelling with love for the man who had always been your anchor. “I promise.”
Palladium wrapped his arms around you, holding you close as if to shield you from the world. “You’re incredibly brave, Y/N. But even the bravest warriors need someone to lean on. Let me be that person for you.”
As you rested your head against his chest, you felt a sense of relief wash over you. For the first time in a long while, you didn’t feel the need to carry the weight of your secret alone.

The soft flicker of candlelight danced across the walls of your cozy home, casting shadows that seemed to breathe with the warm, inviting glow. Your little sanctuary was a place of peace, filled with carefully chosen pieces of comfort: plush, overstuffed pillows in shades of cream and forest green; small shelves adorned with cascading plants whose leaves reached out as if in greeting; and the subtle scent of lavender and sandalwood from the candles scattered around the room.
Palladium sat on the edge of the couch, his thin frame slightly hunched as his fingers absentmindedly played with the hem of his vest. His auburn hair was tied loosely at the back, though a few strands had slipped free, framing his delicate face in the soft glow of the candles. His golden eyes, bright and intelligent, darted toward you occasionally, only to flit away as though he was lost in thought.
You placed two steaming cups of tea on the small table, the sound of the ceramic clinking softly as you sat across from him in your favorite armchair. For a moment, the room was filled with comfortable silence—a silence you cherished. It was rare to find someone like Palladium, who understood that quiet moments could hold as much meaning as spoken words.
Still, there was something different about tonight. He seemed distracted, and his usually graceful hands were fidgeting with his bowtie, a habit you’d come to recognize as a telltale sign of his unease.
“You’ve been quiet,” you said gently, breaking the silence. Your voice was soft, inviting, as though coaxing him out of whatever thoughts were keeping him tied up. “What’s on your mind?”
Palladium glanced up at you, his large eyes widening slightly, as though caught off guard. A faint smile tugged at his lips, but it didn’t reach the warmth of his gaze. “Oh, it’s nothing important,” he murmured, his voice as gentle as ever. “Just... thinking about the future, I suppose.”
You tilted your head, curiosity flickering across your face. “The future? What about it?”
He hesitated, his golden eyes falling to his lap where his hands had stilled. For a moment, he seemed to weigh his words carefully before speaking. “I suppose I’ve been wondering... if it will be enough.”
Your brow furrowed. “What do you mean?”
He sighed softly, his slender shoulders rising and falling as though the weight of centuries rested on them. “We’ve both lived so long,” he began, his voice quieter now. “We’ve seen centuries pass, watched kingdoms rise and fall, and magic evolve into something entirely new. And yet... I find myself wondering if there’s enough left to fill the endless time we’ve been given.” His hands fidgeted again, tugging lightly at the cuff of his sleeve. “What if... what if we’ve already experienced the best of what life has to offer?”
The vulnerability in his voice tugged at your heart. Setting your tea aside, you rose from the armchair and moved to sit beside him on the couch. The cushions dipped under your weight as you reached out, taking one of his hands in yours.
“Palladium,” you said, your tone firm but kind, “how could you even think that? There’s so much left to see, so much left to do. The world is vast, and it’s always changing. We’ve barely scratched the surface.”
He looked up at you, his golden eyes filled with doubt and something else—hope, perhaps. “But how can you be so sure?” he asked softly.
“Because I want to see it all with you,” you replied, your voice brimming with quiet conviction. “I want to explore the sparkling beaches of Andros with you, wander through the enchanted forests of Lynphea, and watch the stars fall over Magix. I want to lose myself in the golden sands of Solaria and dance in the rainstorms of Zenith. There’s so much left to discover, and I can’t imagine doing it with anyone else.”
For a moment, Palladium simply stared at you, his expression softening as the weight on his shoulders seemed to lift. A small smile spread across his face, growing wider as the warmth in his eyes returned.
“You really mean that?” he asked, his voice filled with wonder.
“Of course I do!” you said, squeezing his hand gently. “Eternity is only as dull as we make it, Palladium. There’s a whole world out there—no, a whole universe—just waiting for us to explore it. Together.”
His smile widened, and he let out a soft, breathy laugh that made your heart flutter. “You’re right,” he said, his voice growing more confident. “There’s so much we haven’t seen. So many lands to visit, spells to uncover, and stories to hear.” His golden eyes brightened as his enthusiasm grew. “And to think, I was worried we might run out of things to do.”
You laughed softly, resting your head on his shoulder. His robes smelled faintly of parchment and herbs, a scent you’d come to associate with him. “So, where should we start?” you asked, your voice playful.
“Well,” Palladium began, his boyish grin making him look even more endearing, “I’ve always wanted to visit the floating library in Solaria. They say the books there contain spells lost to time.” His eyes sparkled as he continued, his hands gesturing animatedly. “And the waterfalls of Zenith—they glow under the moonlight. Oh, and the crystal caverns of Lynphea! Have you ever seen the flowers that bloom there at dawn?”
You chuckled, your own excitement building as his enthusiasm became contagious. “One thing at a time, Palladium,” you teased gently. “But yes, we’ll see it all. Every wonder, every hidden corner of this world—and the next.”
For the rest of the evening, the two of you sat together, weaving dreams of future adventures. The tea grew cold on the table, and the candles burned low, but neither of you noticed. The world outside your cozy home seemed to fade away, leaving only the boundless possibilities of tomorrow.
In that moment, the endless span of eternity didn’t seem daunting—it felt like an endless treasure trove, waiting to be uncovered. And together, you were ready to face it all.

As the night deepened, the candles burned lower, casting an even softer glow in the room. The excitement and warmth of your shared dreams filled the air, but as the minutes ticked by, a comfortable silence fell over you both. You let out a small yawn, your hand coming up to cover your mouth.
Palladium’s sharp eyes caught the movement instantly. “You’re tired,” he said softly, his tone a mixture of concern and fondness.
“I suppose I am,” you admitted with a small smile, leaning back against the couch cushions. “But I don’t want this evening to end yet. It’s been perfect.”
He chuckled, the sound low and warm, as his gaze softened. “The evening doesn’t have to end. We’ll pick up where we left off tomorrow—or perhaps in our dreams tonight.”
His words made you smile, though your eyelids grew heavier with each passing moment. Palladium noticed and shifted closer to you, his long fingers gently brushing a stray lock of hair from your face. “Come,” he said gently, standing and offering you his hand. “Let’s get you to bed. You need your rest.”
You hesitated for a moment, but the promise of your cozy bed, paired with Palladium’s calming presence, was impossible to resist. Taking his hand, you let him guide you up from the couch. His movements were graceful, almost delicate, and he stayed close, steadying you as the fatigue settled into your limbs.
The bedroom was just as inviting as the rest of your home, decorated in soft, earthy tones with a bed piled high with warm blankets and pillows. The faint glow of a single candle illuminated the space, casting gentle shadows on the walls.
As you climbed into bed, Palladium knelt beside it, his golden eyes watching you with a quiet tenderness. “Do you want me to stay?” he asked softly, though you could tell from the way he lingered that he hoped the answer would be yes.
“Of course,” you replied without hesitation, reaching out to take his hand again. “I’d like nothing more.”
His smile widened, and with an elegance that seemed second nature to him, he slipped off his shoes and outer vest before joining you. The bed dipped under his weight as he settled beside you, his movements careful and precise.
You curled into him instinctively, your head resting on his chest where you could hear the steady rhythm of his heartbeat. His arm wrapped around you securely, his long fingers tracing gentle patterns on your back.
“Comfortable?” he asked, his voice a soft murmur against your hair.
“More than comfortable,” you replied, your voice already heavy with sleep. “You’re like my own personal heater.”
He chuckled at that, the sound vibrating through his chest. “Well, I’m glad I can be of use,” he teased gently, though there was no hiding the affection in his tone.
For a while, the two of you lay there in peaceful silence, the world outside fading away. Palladium’s hand continued its gentle movements on your back, lulling you further into relaxation.
“Do you know something?” you said sleepily, your voice muffled against his chest.
“What’s that?” he asked, his voice equally soft.
“I think the best part about eternity is moments like this,” you murmured. “Not the adventures or the wonders... but the quiet times we get to share. Just you and me.”
His hand stilled for a moment, and when he spoke, his voice was filled with quiet emotion. “You always know how to make the simplest moments feel extraordinary,” he said. “And I’m grateful for every one of them.”
Your eyes fluttered closed, a contented smile on your lips as his words wrapped around you like a warm blanket. “Goodnight, Palladium,” you whispered, your voice barely audible.
“Goodnight, my love,” he replied, pressing a soft kiss to the top of your head.
As sleep claimed you, Palladium remained awake a little while longer, watching the rise and fall of your breath and marveling at how someone so timeless could still seem so fragile in moments like these. He held you a little tighter, as though to shield you from the weight of the world.
Tomorrow would bring new adventures, new dreams to share. But for now, the only thing that mattered was the warmth of your body against his, the soft glow of the candlelight, and the quiet certainty that this—this moment—was the kind of eternity he had always dreamed of.
