When Axl was with Red Alert, he hadn't had many opportunities to let loose and have fun. His unique talents were a necessary asset to the group, and their limited numbers ensured that they always had a lot of work to do.
The Maverick Hunters were different. Axl was still busy a lot of the time, but he got the odd weekend off every now and then - and permission to use his ride chaser recreationally, suggested to him by Zero of all people.
This meant that Axl could ride through the city at night, enjoying the brilliant lights as they flashed by - and his partner in crime could enjoy it, too.
"Wow..." Pallette held Axl tighter, leaning her head on his shoulder. "...I need to get out of the lab more."
"Could've told you that myself," Axl remarked. "Isn't it awesome?" He paused, smiling. "...This is what we're fighting for, yeah?"
"Yup." Pallette hummed - just barely audible over the roar of the wind. "And you've been outdoing yourself lately!"
Axl heated up a little. "Aw, shucks... you're making me blush."
"Good..." Pallette giggled. "That's what I was aiming for." She gave him a squeeze. "You know what's even awesomer than this city?"
"Yeah?" Axl glanced back at her, but only briefly - he had to keep his eyes on the road. "What is it?"
"You," Pallette answered him, and she kissed the side of his head. "You're the awesomest."
