"I know, I know…! But you can't really blame me!"
She shifts, instead clinging to his arm with an appreciative smile at him. At the very least, he hadn't tried to shake her off thus far since he'd returned to them.
"Tell me about your day! Mine was super normal, work and grocery shopping. So I wanna hear about yours!"
"trying to ignore it is fucking boring ." From Dabi! [ @pallorpyre ]
DABI ; @pallorpyre .
Ragged breath filled the place; amplified by gradual proximity of weighty load. The flickering fluorescent lights cast an eerie glow over the Hero Killer's scarred skin, highlighting the contours of his jaw, sharp and missing edges of maskless features where attributable disfigurement struck the periphery of vision like a focal point of horror. Grip on the barbell tightened as muscles strained under the effort, '' I mostly sit back and watch him spiral; not like the bliss of ignorance lasts that long. '' Stain's explosive temper hardly veered towards apathy even though he entertained it from time to time.
While aimed for a world purged of perceived injustices, conversation hung in the balance, methods and motivations remained uniquely theirs, creating a dangerous undercurrent that could erupt at any moment. The future of their coalition, despite its fragility, rested on their talent for finding shared ground in the face of the brewing storm.
It was clear that both him and Dabi had their own ways of dealing with pale brat, for as much as he cared -- it wouldn't hurt to know when Tomura's about to explode like a goddamn firework. On the other hand, there was a part of him that understood the need to confront the turbulent emotions that could lead to catastrophic consequences if left unchecked.
Another part of reply came between reps, punctuating his words with the sound of weights crashing onto the rack until discarded somewhere back in its place with a loud thud. Eyes, sharp and probing, met Dabi's when as he returned to sitting position astride, forearms resting on my knees, hardly even paying attention to beads of sweat glistering across forehead, '' You're not trying to tell me to actually pay more attention to his temper tantrums? ''
Both when dealing with villains and when saving lives, there's a lot that comes down to one's ability to make a split-second decision. Often, there's no time to weigh up the risks or spend time thinking about what could go wrong. That's part of why training is so important - experience, too - because it helps you build up your instincts, which are a key part of being a hero.
Right now, Ryuko is very much aware of all that... but it's still difficult not to hesitate. She can think of many heroes who'd disapprove of the choice she's considering making. At the same time, there's just as many who'd think it was a wise decision - and perhaps more who'd find a third way, even better than whatever possibilities she's capable of bringing to mind.
She doesn't want to negotiate with villains if she can help it... at least not one so dangerous as Dabi. It's too risky. While there's those who'd disapprove of it on principle, Ryuko isn't necessarily one of them - but that doesn't mean she's comfortable with the idea, either. But in spite of that disquieting churning in her gut, and the voice in her head admonishing her for her own stupidity... she doesn't want to lose anyone again. That's what's most important to her, here.
"You know something about that girl, don't you?" It's barely a question, though it's not quite pointed enough to be an accusation - because in the end, Ryuko can't actually be sure. But she can't appear to be lacking in confidence here, either. "Tell me where she is. If you do, maybe things won't have to end so badly for you."

Himiko sighs, resting her head on folded arms as she lies against the table in the run-down room that's currently acting as "home."
From the perspective of society, Himiko knows there's something very wrong with her. Or - it's more like everything's wrong with her. But why care about what they have to say? Himiko would much rather live life as she wants, love whoever she wants, and become whoever she wants freely. There couldn't be anything better than this "twisted", obsessive love of hers, the love that everyone says is wrong!
But it's hard to live in a world where everyone thinks you shouldn't be happy. And when nearly everyone is against her... sometimes even Himiko can't help but wonder if they're right. She hates those moments more than anything, when the doubts creep back in - so sometimes she tries to redirect them, turning her thinking around in a way that points the finger the opposite way. What's wrong with them? Why don't they understand her, and what can she do to fix that?
Himiko doesn't particularly care about changing the minds of most people. She has nothing to prove to them. But, when it comes to just a few...
"Hey, Dabi. Have you ever liked someone?"
