Absolutely, I feel like right before he pulled the trigger on Bill and then Stan he remembered what she said about needing to think before shooting (I know for a FACT that it pained him pulling the trigger both times)

(I don't remember if it's canon or not, but im also pretty sure that sometime after Bill's betrayal the ring turned black, pretty sure he thinks about that often, especially after he goes through the portal, and especially after setting sail with Stan)
