I HEART MOOSIQ EXCLUSIVE PREMIERE:
Earlier this year, I fell in love with a new Florida synthpop duo named Palmedo. They swiftly had me swooning with their debut single, Secret Lover. I'm excited to announce that they're back with another gorgeous tune to set your hearts aflutter. Premiering right here on I Heart Moosiq is their new single, Cool Down. Like on Secret Lover, Palmedo will envelope you with luscious, radiant synths, undulating and swirling throughout the beautiful, plush song. It's hard to keep cool when it's such a flushed, warming gem, ready to burst at the seams. Have you ever been lost in love? Carried away with lustful emotion? Cool Down embodies that exhilarating, uncontrollable state of body and mind.
Palmedo said they created Cool Down out of a paralleled sense of anxiety, while embarking on a three month residency in separate cities. The soulful synthpop song was produced in collaboration with David Plakon (X Priest X, Road Kill Ghost Choir, SASKATCHEWAN) at North Avenue Studios. If you love CHVRCHES, you'll be drawn to Cool Down. But while CHVRCHES might come off, at times, a bit detached and icy, Palmedo has the human heart intimately, soulfully portrayed, vulnerability and fragility included, in a way that reminds me of some of Jessie Ware's sentimental ballads. Fall into the sultry, urgent folds of Cool Down, then revisit magnificent, ambrosial Secret Lover below.
Dromes featuring my girl Delia Albert! check it out it!
If one person's life is being positively impacted simply because you are surviving, thriving and using your time to be alive on this planet, then you are doing just fine. I was laying on my back with my feet open softly and palms to the sky -- feeling my body cool from the last two hours of Jivamukti. This was an ending mantra during meditation. I feel I'm not alone in this seemingly insatiable search for better. Better is different to everyone and changes every moment. There's nothing wrong with growth from reason, but there's also nothing wrong with celebrating the present and being content in a moment. I'm only sharing all of this undoubtedly lame words-of-wisdom nonsense because it's so easy to forget. I know a good amount of people out there that could use an excuse to remember how brilliant they can be in the moment -- better will always be there waiting. I've been down because I haven't had much time to pursue this blog, to shoot, write, or play with any side projects since taking the dive into the full-time-job world. That's life. There are bigger problems. And I'm trying. I set aside some time to do some EP art for Palmedo last month -- an amazing Gainesville based duo. It felt right, their sound was dope, and I had the time of my life getting to feel creative again. There should always be enough space in life for a new rodeo.
