There’s a chill to the air as she steps out onto the battlements. 

It’s been snowing for several days now, but for the first time that day there was a break in the storm, and so she decides to brave the cold and steps outside. She shivers despite the furs she’s got draped over her shoulders, though there’s something about it that tells her she’s shivering for far more than just the cold. As she stands there, overlooking what was theirs again, she cannot help but to feel a sense of sorrow. A twinge of pain for all it’s cost them to get back where they were, for what they had lost up until now. 

She sighs, leaning forward as she looks out into Winterfell’s courtyard, ever busy with leatherworking and the like. Winter was upon them and they had to be ready, for whatever it brought with it- lions and dragons and an army of the undead. It all lay at their doorstep and war was coming, a fierce war that very well could be the end of them all. The end for all they’ve worked for. 

Footsteps alert her and she turns just as he approaches, wearing those furs she had made for him, given to him just a few weeks before. “I’ve been looking for you.” Jon says as he comes to stand before her, head tilting ever so slightly. She’s pale, but her rosy lips curve with a smile as he speaks. “They’re hard at work, eh?” He asks, gesturing down at the courtyard below, to which she follows his line of sight back down, catching sight of Brienne, her ever loyal shield who was likely looking for her as well. Turning back to Jon, she’s reminded of that day’s conversation, of just what he was planning, of where he was going. 

“I wish you wouldn’t go,” she speaks honestly, out of turn really, but she can’t help herself. “We need you here.” I need you here, the unspoken words fall between them. Jon sighs, reaching out his hand to take hers, quite unlike how a brother might touch his sister. Once again, there comes the spark between them, something else unspoken, but well known.

“How long until you believe that you can trust me?” He asks softly, Stark gray eyes rising up to meet her Tully blue. “I promised I would protect you, Sansa, and I will.” He knows she fears being alone, he knows she fears what the future will bring. But this is why he must go, this is why he must do what he must. “I will protect you and the North, no matter the cost.” He’s speaking earnestly now, his hand still holding tight to hers. Much like when she had convinced him to fight for Winterfell, he now must convince her that the fight had to continue. Truth was, he would do anything it took to keep her safe, everything else be damned. “I will fight the undead today, dragons tomorrow, and lions the next, if it keeps you safe, Sansa.” He’d gone to war for her once and he would gladly do it again. “Trust me,” he speaks softer now, his hand instead finding its place against the curve of her chilled cheek. 

She lets out the breath she’s been holding, his words resonating with her in a way they never have before. “I trust you,” she says, meaning it.

Weird fact - not so much weird, but cool - I’ve been really interested in allographs lately! they’re variants in the writing of what might be the same sound. So cat and back are allographs because c and ck look different but are spelled the same.

This gets especially cool when you look at Chinese characters. There are tons of 异体字 or variant characters. On one hand, traditional / simplified themselves function this way. But then there’s also different forms of common words in simplified, like 裹 and 裡 and 里 for “inside/interior”. It’s so fucking amazing and the history is So long and So rich

favorite outfit - that’s hard bc I don’t know if I have a favorite individual outfit. I do have a favorite outfit type: a button down or graphic t shirt over a turtleneck (pattered or plain). Big dykey mom jeans with shirts tucked in. My vegan docs or clog-type shoes with fun socks, maybe some cute dangly earrings.

2. thoughts on veganism?

Not for me, but as long as you aren't getting preachy to me about it, I say people should eat how they want to. I'm not one for restriction, so veganism would never suit me.

3. a specific color that gives you the ick?

this is difficult as I like most colors in the right context...but I'm really sick of seeing grey "wood" floors. My soul dies a little every time I see this:

It's been years since I've done anything more elaborate than don some cat ears for Halloween but...

I think I'd love to go as Dolly Parton just once . The hair, the clothes, the makeup and, of course, the boobs for a night even if I don't have her musical talent :)
