While looking at the Daily News cover image of the Barney's while Black bust, my 2007 installation Trap came to mind. This was my undergraduate thesis piece at Williams College. Custom printed silk scarves tied in a noose, presented in a display case below a photo. Between undergrad and my MFA at Columbia, I worked in merchandising and product development, experiencing the fashion machine firsthand. - Pamela Council
