PANATA 2017
It feels so wonderful to once again listen to an award winning writer named Mr. Cheeno Marlo Sayuno, who shared not just his knowledge or talent in writing but also shared the motivation, passion and enlightenment for us to further write effectively for our listeners/readers.
But one thing that I really can’t get out of my head (just like Kylie Minogue’s song :P) is that when he showed us a part of his imagination by setting an example for the “World Building”, which means creating the story’s set of rules from the world you are creating. (or maybe it’s just me who’s been contemplating this way about his thoughts XD but anyway...)
The example was about the world where the characters weren’t allowed to step on to the ground because they will die if they do and by that rule it makes them floating rounded like creatures as I can imagine (they seemed to be bubble heads just like the picture I just got somewhere in the internet, and I also call them floaters).
He also explained that in a certain world building we should create something different like what if one of the floaters break that rule of stepping on to the ground? And fortunately he did not die? And what if he did not die because he was just wearing shoes? So by this situation we are already creating something readable for the readers and eventually, it will solve puzzles and mystery beyond the story which makes it worth waiting for. But overall never forget the “Value” of the story.
For me this glimpse of his mind is simply amazing. I don’t know if everyone felt the same thing but I really appreciated on how he came up with it and it showed me another dimension that is present in this life. I mean, I am more into matured contents and deep poet stuffs but his example took me to a new level of appreciation about children books.
His works are colorful, cultural and full of life. His works are not your typical Cinderella story.
P.S In relation to this band blog the soon to be 1st album title is Floating Beginning. :P

Wikang Filipino'y ating tangkilikin. Pagtangkilik sa ibang wika'y dapat naring baguhin. Bibig at dila'y ating hasain, pagkat kabayan, yan ay sariling atin. Panata ko'y paghasain ang mga salita. Panata ko'y paglinangin sang sariling wika. Panata ko'y pag-ibig sa sariling bansa. Ikaw! Anong panata ang tiyak mong magagawa?"
