Announcement

Hi guys! I have a few things to say, if you'll indulge me.

When I first started planning Kid's story, I had no idea it would be this big. Or this important to me. But I'm glad it did because I know I've grown as an author while writing it, and I enjoyed exploring themes that I hadn't had the time to do yet. I really hope this story spoke to you in one way or another, because I can assure you it came from the heart.

This being said, my near future plans-in this order-are to write Killer's spinoff of Imperfect (about five chapters, give or take), Ichiji's prequel (this will be necessary to give some background to the Vinsmokes since they will be important in Sanji's installment) and, finally, finish this series with a bang with Sanji's story. Don't get me wrong, I love Sanji to bits and pieces, he'll get all the love he deserves, even though he's the last one.

I'll also be updating All of Yourself as I write it. I still need to develop the plot on that one a little bit because all I've got planned is debauchery and lewdness (not that y'all mind, I know that).

Now, a very important announcement and the crux of this post, actually: I will be taking a small break during September. I have two weeks of vacation starting tomorrow, and then I need to focus on a personal project (that I intend to finish during September), so I won't be able to update fics weekly. Thus, the month-long hiatus.

The Meet-Cute series has been going on for over a year, and I've been having a blast writing it. It helps me grow as a writer and gives me the freedom to explore new things. It was your feedback and love that gave me the courage to try and publish something for myself (hence the personal project).

I've been publishing weekly since I created this blog, and I love doing it. There isn't a single day that I don't write, and I love sharing my stories with you.

I also know for a fact that I won't be able to stay away from fanfiction completely for the whole month, so I hope that by the end of September, I'll have at least a few things to show you. I'll keep you all updated. Thank you so much for being on that side! I love you all, and your comments and interactions bring me so much joy, so thank you for that, too!

but on a more important note... he drives people to sloth... probably... or rather imbues targets with sloth to the point that they are overcome by sleep and peak laziness... i could always push it further and take inspo from sleeping beauties... where they become incased in something... perhaps to keep them in their state of sloth... but ooooh the ideas....

Some reflections

So we have reached the end of another installment of The Meet-Cute... I tell you that I started this without any type of expectations, be they good or bad, and I am overwhelmed with all the love and support this series has received. I want to use the spotlight to thank each and every one of you for reading, for supporting, for commenting, and for overall keeping me motivated throughout this whole ordeal - I couldn't have done it without you!

I had planned for all the installments to be bright, easy and light, and how the tables have turned. Zoro's story, Trouble, turned out quite dark; it took me places I hadn't expected when I had planned it. It took me out of my comfort zone and I loved every single second of it.

I reread some chapters of Firestarter (Ace's Story) the other day, and realised that after around nine months, give or take, I have improved my storytelling. There were moments when I cringed, a lot of stuff I would've done differently now (and maybe someday I'll go back and remaster it), but I feel like I have learned in this journey.

As I prepare for Kid's story, I know that this one will be completely different from what I had initially planned for the Meet-Cute series. This won't feel like a rom-com, at all. I want it to be raw, messy, angsty and most of all, human. It will be a tale of redemption and reckoning; of love found, lost and painfully rebuilt; of learning to love oneself and be free of a hurtful past; of dealing with inner demons and ghosts and learning to live again without them; It will hurt, I hope, because I do want you to feel as much as the characters in this story will, so I pray I tell the story just right.

If you read this far, thank you so much, this was a way to vent and express my feelings at the moment. I will need a bit of time to transition from Zoro's story into Kid's, and I also want to do as I usually do, which is to have some chapters prepared in advance before I post anything. Still, I leave you with the cover of the story and a playlist I made (I might still add some songs now and again) to get me in the mood.

Preview

Super excited to share this fic with you guys... been having a lot of thoughts about it lately. None of them holy. Fair warning, though, this will be very self-indulgent because I'm experimenting with darker themes... hope you'll all still like it!
