Ok I'll post my Pandorus Sphinx pictures. I spent a half hour holding this guy bc I've been waiting so long to see a live one 🥺

This is one of the species that got me super interested in moths bc I found a dead one in the middle of my city once and it was like discovering a mythical creature.

Dang, some beauties! You didn't ask for IDs, but for anyone curious, they are: a polyphemus moth, a pandorus sphinx, and a mournful sphinx :)

In awe at the SIZE of this lad. My partner brought him home from work, where a coworker had brought it for THEM from the parking lot since he knows them to be a weird bug person who fetches bugs for the big bug nerd in their house.

This goodly pork sausage is a Pandorus Sphinx. He’s currently taking a dirt nap in a repurposed pail, under some grape leaves and several inches of coconut coir. When he emerges he will be a glorious green jet plane, stay tuned.

@izunafox53 submitted: I raise caterpillars in my spare time. I have tobacco hornworms and one sphinx moth caterpillar. The hornworms are named Beans, Rice, and Toast and the sphinx is Sausage. They'll be moths soon! :)

I love them all! Sausage is a very appropriate name. Look at how delightfully fat they are :)

Btw - "sphinx moth" is just the common name for any species in the family Sphingidae. Sausage looks like a pandorus sphinx as far as I can tell from what little I can see of their markings and their silly hood. Pandorus sphinxes also don't have a horn on their butt like most sphinxes do!
