Słowackiego Estate, Lublin, September 2025
Osiedle Słowackiego in Lublin, designed by Oskar and Zofia Hansen in the 1960s and built between 1964 and 1972 is a pioneering example of the Open Form concept. Osiedle Słowackiego was part of the Hansens’ visionary idea of the Linear Continuous System (LSC) – a bold concept of cities stretching along infrastructure lines, balancing housing, work, and nature in a dynamic, human-centered urban form. Its modernist layout with green courtyards and pedestrian-friendly spaces makes it a landmark of postwar urban design.
